Do I have an OCD??!

Question: Do I have an OCD? I'm naturally a very "head in the sky" sort of person, i have a natural talent for maths but i often forget things,
the main reason i ask this is:
1: I count my steps when i walk upto either 4, 8, 32 or 48, I can't stop until i reach one of these number's and then I start again. I count either in my head or very quietly outloud. I only tend to do this when I'm by myself or noone is talking to me.
2: I arrange things, like trays just before leaving a fast food restraunt. Everything has to be in vertical neat lines and folded. I do it as well on my desk at school and with anything in the kitchen, but then things like my desk at home and my school bag are a total mess!
3: I've started not wanting to eat food, I've had a lil trouble with ana in the past but not much, I've recently put on 4pounds so now I'm 8stone4 and 5'3. Since I've realised this it's always been in the back of my mind to use any distraction i can to not eat without ppl noticing, so far I've resisted

I got heaps of experience with mental illness and with people who suffer. You might say I'm part of the community....

After 6 years the conclusion I've come to is this: There is only one question that matters and that is "Are you happy?"

If you are doing something that makes you miserablethen seek help/ take steps to stop it. If your doing something a little bit weird that doesnt cause you or anyone else a problem - then who gives a rats *** if some dude in a white coat says its "abnormal." Fck em - be yourself and be happy with who you are. So you like making patterns in life? There are far stranger things to get your kicks out of.

The key thing in assessing these habits is if they stop you leading a normal life. If you find that you spend hours a day arranging things or that you are struggling to maintain social contact with people then you might want to see you gp.

You mentioned school so I assume you are in your teens perhaps. This is a pretty normal age to try and explore and assert control on the world. The things you describe sound to me like you are trying to arrange the parts of your life that you don't have direct control over so you can cope with them. I'm glad you are on top of the ana - this is not a healthy way of coping.

Best of luck.

If you find it completely unbearable not to do these things you may have a mild case I suppose.
The more extreme cases are what you have to worry about like washing your hands for 2 hours, 3 hours .etc

These sound like little habits. Don't make a big deal out of them! (;

theres a possibility you may have OCD but you dont need to depend on people on Y!A to tell you that you have OCD go to a psychiatrist and get properly diagnosed

I think we are all a little OCD in our habits. What you have is probably more of an anxiety problem.
Try talking to others about your worries.

no you dont have it
