Please help me if you can?!

Question: I am so sorry to bother you but I am all alone and suffering immensely from two very strong OCD fears and just need someone to tell me if they are legitimate or not. I am not joking and am suffering intense anxiety over these situations.

1. I made out with a guy of unknown HIV status on two separate occasions. I noticed he had dried lips but did not taste any blood; but do believe dried skin transferred from him to me. Am I at risk for HIV from these two instances?

2. I was at a coffee shop and the server casually wiped her hand against her nose (for what reason I am unsure). Is there any possible way I could get AIDS from drinking the coffee she touched after touching her nose (if she was wiping it or something)?

Any help, on here, by email, or by IM would be more than appreciated. PLEASE help if willing; I am desperate for answers.

No, you can't get AIDS/HIV from either of these instances, calm down.

Believe it or not, AIDS is VERY difficult to transmit. Generally, as soon as the virus hits the air, it dies in a matter of seconds. Unless you've specifically got BLOOD/Sex Juice from another person inside of an open scab, you're fine. Even swallowing the blood of somebody with HIV wont' get you infected.

Calm down = ) you're fine.

Good luck!

Awww, punkin...I'm sorry you are scared about this.

Don't worry about the waitress. That is a no chance thing.

Do you not know if the guy you made out with has HIV? He most likely doesn't but get tested if it would make you feel better. There is no need to worry about things, it only kills you faster.

I really wouldn't be too worried about it. ( I really don't have any facts to back this up, it's just how I would feel.) As far as the waitress situation goes, I think you have a greater risk of catching her cold than anything. I think it would be a slim chance that she had AIDS. Even then, it would be a slim chance she would transmit it to you that way, if at all. Unless she drank from the coffee cup. But her touching the cup and coffee pot would not do it. As for the guy, do you have suspicion that he has AIDS? Again, it may be a slim chance. I think it might be possible to get it through saliva or any type of bodily fluid. But there is the greater chance he doesn't have AIDS. You might just have to ask him to get your piece of mind. Or get tested yourself, it couldn't hurt.
Good luck with everything!

ok, you made out with a guy? in what way? did you sleep with him or just kiss him? and did the woman that had the coffee actually have aids? coz if she didnt then you cannot catch it if she's clean (no aids or hiv) if you slept with this guy then yes you'll have hiv and if you just kissed the guy then there is 50/50 chance you'll have hiv from him. you said about the coffee cup again if she has aids then 50/50 chance. my only advice now is GO AND GET CHECKED! good luck!

Why would you Drink from the cup after what you witnessed
and if you made out with a guy with HIV or Aids then your at risk of catching it, no question. especially if its unprotected.

Only if u two transferred buckets and buckets of saliva which if u kissed him twice wouldn't happen. U only get AIDS by transferring alot of infected liquid substances as far as I am aware. And there is no way on earth u can get it from the waitress. People really need to be educated about AIDS and HIV

The only way HIV is transmitted is through sexual fluids and blood. Whenever the virus is exposed to oxygen it dies off.

Your fears of getting HIV are not irrational. You fears of getting the virus through these two situations is irrational. Unless you had and exposed wound that was contaminated by infected and fresh blood or you had sexual contact with someone who was infected, you are at a very low risk of getting the disease.

If this is something that is interfering with your normal life and preventing you from living a normal life, then you should see a therapist to help you deal with some unresolved issues. Usually when people have irrational fears of something its often a transferance of emotions from something else that actually caused the fear.

#1 You should ask him or go to the doctors to see if you have HIV.

#2 You probably don't have HIV there is a SLIM chance there.

There are only 3 ways HIV or AIDS can be transfered

1 - Passing of bodily fluids
2 - Unprotected sex
3 - Other persons blood getting into yours

In those instances it doesn't seem like any of that happened to you. Get checked if your really worried.

uhm I dont really think your gonna get sick. im no doctor but just because u kissed someone with dry lips doesnt mean u will get hiv or anything, unless u had oral sex with him or something. and you will not get AIDS from someone who wiped their nose near you. aids is a blood relates disease, so unless you share a needle or something, you'll be fine, so try to stop worrying hun. =]

hi, my name is Mickie and i do attend medical school first let me say you need to get help for your anxiety and ocd. you will kill yourself warring about something you don't have . the coffee cup she touched was unsanitary not HIV positive u actually have to come in touch with the disease. NOW about making out with an HIV/positive person is serious the mouth is an open wound its possible he could of brushed his teeth and the gums could bleed they can bleed from dry ch aped lips or maybe he could of bite his tongue or lip chewing something. ITS VERY POSSIBLE. you may want to go a free clinic and get tested, takes only a couple Min's. A couple Min's can save you a lifetime its worth it. be safe not sorry

You are over-worrying I think. But nonetheless, there is nothing wrong with getting an HIV test. It will put your mind at ease. Until you get that test, you will just worry yourself. So decide to get the test, and try to put this out of your mind, knowing that you'll get the test, and have done all you can in the meantime.

I did a project on HIV and AIDS, there is hiv in your spit but there is only less then one percent in it and its very very very rare to get hiv threw making out. the waitress thing, dont worry about, hiv dies less then one second after it touches air. so i think your safe. if it makes you feel better, go to the local heath department and get tested. they will keep your testing confidential.

The waitress can give you her cold. The best way to avoid HIV is not to "make out" with someone with the disease. I don't think it is easily spread by kissing. You will probably be OK if you do not let it go to the next level. Ditch the guy.
Don't try to buy friendship or social acceptance with your body.
