it's okay to be shy and it's okay to be nervous in front of crowds....most people are....in some countries, shyness is considered a positive quality because shy people are usually more introspective and sensitive to other people's feelings....you just have to expose yourself to situations such as the one you're talking about, and you will gradually gain more confidence and feel more comfortable....it's great that you're determined and that you're not backing away from a challenge, that shows that you're going to be fine....just do the best you can, and if it's not perfect, it's not the end of the world

check wikihow, it helps alot, i used to be shy but now im not!

Practice. You know your stuff. Just go up there and act like it's only the two of you.

Well, when people choke sometimes they close their eyes, same with crying. Also, don't look at the audience, look at the clock in the back or a random object, it helps. Normally you can't see most of the people because of the bright lights on stage and no light in the audience, so that is very helpful.

imagine everyone in there underwear!! or just remember that nobody's perfect and everybody makes mistakes. but im sure you won't. and everybody is shy at some points just don't let it get into your fun. who cares what other people think i will bet $100 that you will do GREAT!!!! remember you are you and no one can change that or make fun of that. cause they don't have any power to control you.

use the motivation from wanting to prove to everyone else that you can do it...that kind of motivation should help you whenever you're having a hard time...just think of wanting to prove them wrong...what also helps is thinking that being the center of attention isn't as big of a deal as you make it..i know cause i'm shy too and i get scared of all eyes on me but if you don't make it a big deal it shouldn't be a big deal

Well.......................................

perform it infront of your family and friends first.
or perform it infront of the mirror so you can see how other people are seeing you - it helps trust me.

foolxme2010 - shyness is based on FEAR. So first you need to ask yourself what are you afraid of? According to Susan Jeffers, author of "Feel the Fear and DO IT Anyway," fears fall into several levels: Level 1 - Situation Oriented (Outer), a)Fear of things we can't control (illness, crime, war), b) Fear of things we have to do (like being in a play); Level 2 - Ego Oriented (Inner) (rejection, failure) and both level 1 and 2 are included in Level 3 fear which is the biggest fear of all. Level 3 fear is I CANNOT HANDLE IT!

Just know that fear is a natural reaction whenever you try anything new or move into a new level of things that you know. EVERYTIME. Fear is a sign that you are growing and changing. Whenever you feel fear (shyness) just remind yourself that WHATEVER HAPPENS, I CAN HANDLE IT (and in your mind, see yourself handling it).

YOU CAN DO IT.

Good luck
