Hey i don't think people really understood my question before.?!

Question: i did a question before about a mental illness i think i have.
i see cartoons-people, creatures-especially from tv shows or of my brains own creation in my head and they talk. i don't control them. i hate them and i ignore it but they constantly try to get my attention.
i don't think i'm mad coz i know they're not really 'in my head'. but i think my brains is in overdrive like im over-dreaming or something.

HELP!!

I'm a psychology student and I love to give advice on here about psychological issues even though I'm not licenced...But I'm too ethical for that one. Go get help. A councelor that will come with a psychiatric consult.

Being "mad" is a poorly used medevial adjective it is not a mental illness. What you describe could be anything from halucinations, to severe bipolar disorder, to schitsophrenia.

You say you think your brain is in overdrive. Why? What does it feel like when you see these things? Is thier any pain? Light headedness? Have you ever had trouble breathing before? See there is just a slew of questions that need answering, you need to go get help soon, this is deffinitely something that needs treatment and may be something that will develop into something more serious. Go find a mental health profesinal and try for one with a specialty for things liek this.

If you need help finding one, email me, I'll find one for you.

Yeah, you need a mental health professional, not a bunch of insomniac weirdos like us telling you what to do.

You should be speaking to your doctor about this, seriously!

There's a tv show of a kid who has it (fictional and comical for kids show) and maybe you're reflecting off of that...if not, if it ain't bothering you so it's kewl, then.

like totally dude goto a doctor and now!!!

stop taking drugs.

just stop thinking about yourself all the time.

Is this while your awake, or trying to sleep. We all hallucinate from time to time right before drifting off to sleep. But if your seeing these things while your awake, then it's time to talk to a doctor. Especially one who specializes in the mental health area. Good Luck.

I concur with the above... you need to see your Doctor who will then refer you to a specialist.

there are tablets that can get rid of these halloucinations, they are as a result of the chemicals in your brain being out of whack. go to your docs and he will give you the meds, as long as you take them you will be ok.

big hugs x

My friend had something like that, she used to stare at a wall for ages , cause she said they were talking to her, but it only happened when she was realy tired though.
But she used to listen to them though, maybe just try and see what theyre talking to you about?
What do they talk to you about?
Is it negative or positive?
Go and see a doctor but before you do , just stop and listen .

You are having visual and auditory hallucinations. It is good that you realize that it is not real, but you need to see a psychiatrist so that you can take medications to control them.

You need to go see a psychologist. They would know what you need to help solve your problem more. They can sit down with you and see what solutions would be best for you.

Could be drugs making you hallucinate , withdrawing from alcohol [same symtoms]. sleep paralysis when you think you are awake and dreaming in real time or a temporal lobe [brain] symtom. Sientists can actually produce hallucinations in people by stimulating this part of the brain. You are not mad because you realise the situation is not normal and are seeking advice. I would consult a doctor in the first instance to put your mind at rest, good luck.

if you can draw then you should start drawing the creatures of your own creation. also, trying to block them will just make things worse. what you should do is accept them, talk to them and become friends with them. like this they will disappear on their own.

The very fact that you see, and hear them, though, is indicative of the presence of a schizotypal disorder, and what if you were driving, or doing something dangerous? I strongly advise seeking an expert diagnosis: you will probably be prescribed medications, but the choice is yours whether or not to try the alternative treatments, first for, say, 6 months, and see if they are sufficient for you, to avoid the risks and side effects of medications. Based on the works of Abram Hoffer, M.D., pioneer of nutritional psychiatry, as reported in Nutritional Influences on Mental Illness by Melvyn Werbach, M.D. Our grateful acknowledgement to Dr. Hoffer for permission to use his work. The following dietary and nutritional regimen is reported to have over a 90% success rate with patients who are ill for the first time or who are suffering their second or third episode with healthy periods in between. It is reported that after two years over 90% will be well, none will be worse, and none will have tardive dyskinesia (drug-induced involuntary muscular movements). They will have to remain on the regimen many years, perhaps their entire lives. For chronic patients
