How do I know if my antideppresant is working?!

Question: I'm going on my second week..

Answers: I'm going on my second week..

I saw first signs in about a week, but it took 4 for it really to have any major effect. They don't provide a magic bouncing off the ceiling cure, but you'll find instead of everything crashing into your brain at once, things will line up and you'll have a little more control.

Also you might find that if you slip down, then you'll find it easier to get back up again (mentally). I still get really down, feel worthless and consider suicide quite often....but the pills tend to at least reduce the effects and give me a chance to fight it.

Dont try to look for changes, they work slowly.

it takes about 2 week to start working.

It took me about 4 weeks, I know people who were less and somemore. One day you wake up and the world seems OK< it is odd. LOL It is not even a high feeling.

I found it took me 4-6 weeks to really have the effect take place. If you are finding really hard still go back to your doctor, he may up the dose or change the tablets. Otherwise hang in there blue skies are on the way.

If it's working, you'll start to notice that you don't feel so closed and sad about things the same way. Sorta like a rainy day when suddenly the clouds part and the sun shines..it's like that feeling...hard to describe. You'll start to take an interest in things you stopped doing and you'll have a little more energy instead of wanting to just lay around. Good luck to you, hope you find the right med. Sometimes, the first one the Dr tries doesn't work. Make sure you write questions down to ask your Dr on your next visit so you'll have answers and help the Dr decide on your health care plan.
