Answers: my coworker told me this but then again she's crazy she takes like 2 meds plus xanax and who knows what else..

HAHAHA NO! I take meds and I don't let anybody know. Anyone thinks it is a status symbol needs to be checked out. It's expensive and I'd rather spend the thousands of dollars a year I spend on meds on fancy designer clothes. Those are a status symbol.

Status symbol? Only in the Loony Bin.

she is saying it to make herself feel better

Yes its true if your a knobhead

lol thats actually funny cause it has a point. all the rich people think they have probs and get meds prescribed to them so they can blame there probs on chemical imbalances and other shyt. so possibly! but it is a really dumb way to show your status, f'in idiots haha.

WTF, no. Anyone proud to be taking meds has bigger issues than what they're taking the meds for. I'd give anything to not be reliant on my meds to keep me stable, but I'm bipolar, so I'll be on them indefinitely.

Now think about it a "status symbol"? Like being handicaped? Or better than common non-pill popping folk? It might be a status symbol, but only in the minds of crazy people.

Yeah it is a status symbol of being a fool.

A fool who believed the lies of the meds company and their workers.

The thing is some people on meds actually perceive it as a status symbol. It's something dark and different that they can claim for their own, and sadly develop a dependency both physiologically and psychologically in many cases. Some people lie about taking medications to get that 'status', and then feeling rejected after life doesn't change because they are 'on medication', sadly end up in desperate dependancy also.
I think the most worrying thing is teenagers and the fascination with medication, particularly anti-depressants.
In concluscion, status symbol? Yes, both for those taking it and those not, but for two completely different reasons.
xx

It's only a status symbol among the loony toons who want to be able to one-up each other at the local mental health places where they go for day treatment and brag to each other about who is crazier and have the meds to prove it.

I've also seen where it is kind of a weird status symbol among old people when they are busy arguing because they get to say "Oh yeah? Well I take coumadin, metformin, prilosec, flomax and geritol!" and they up the ante with who has the larger med list. Oldsters also argue about grandchildren, food, the good old days, and politics so who knows what it really means.

Huh?? Where did you get that idea??? Good grief, I wish I didn`t have to be on the junk...It`s expensive, and it drains the life out of me.
