Does getting less sleep effect my memory/mind?!

Question: I've getting very little sleeps, and tired through out my days. I have to memoroze this monologue, but nothing is soing in my mind. However, back then I used to sleep well, I have no problem memorizing my lines. Is it because of my lack of sleeping or I'm losing too much my brain cells, which I don't drink/smoke.

yes, sleep (or the lack of it) will definitly affect brain capacity. A long insomnia can produce the same incapacity as being intoxicated with alcohol for instance.

Yes, the brain needs a good nights sleep to work properly

i'm not so sure about if it will. if you are the kind of person who can stay up all night and still work all day the next day, then chances are you'll be fine with a few days of little sleep and it shouldnt affect memory. for example: for the last year i've only slept 4-5 hours a night and i still run every day and i can remember everything during my day, so i dont know if it is that.
