Off meds for a week or two, with brief mania and instantly back down to severe depression, within a matter of days...

Taken completely off of Lamictal now, I took my lithium as prescribed last night. I'm an hour late taking it now... whoops.
this one time.....i was off meds....and i ran....and they tazered me....and it hurt like really bad....oh and, um....thats all
I stopped my meds in June of 2005 and was hospitalilzed and put back on meds in early September of 2005.
I'm back on them now and probably will be for quite some time.
I have a friend who drank, which complicates the situation horribly. He had 2 suicide attempts, both times he was lucky he lived. He is on meds now and doesn't party anymore and he has a nice job making $40k a year. His friends are proud of him.
I was off meds for about six months last year and it was awful. I didn't go for more than about three weeks before I had a relapse.
I'm going to avoid doing that ever again if I can help it. I'm on Lamictal now and it seems to help with minimal side effects.
