Symptoms of OCD?!

Question: ever since i was little i would have intrusive thoughts.

for example. when i saw a baby dead bird with out any feathers on its body. i imagined it hiding at the bottom of glasses, or in a food dish hidden under some food.

or i would i have trouble sleeping without socks and pants imagining a dead fish would be waiting under the comforters.

and when i try and close my eyes to relax. sometimes i see haunting images of rotting corpses. i've had to deal with this from a very early age....

i know im imagining these things and that they are rediculous. but they still bother me deeply.

every time i put a shoe on i imagine a large bug in there squirming and trying to live as my foot smothers the poor things. sometimes ill even take off my shoe and check to be sure.

it makes me feel guilty and insane even talking about these problems....

thanks for the help

OCD symptoms vary from mild to severe. They include obsessions (thoughts or feelings) that cause distress, anxiety caused by this distress, and compulsions (actions) which aim to stop or cancel out the thoughts or feelings causing distress.

Obsessions
Obsessions can include:

thinking or feeling objects are dirty or are contaminated
doubts about doors being left unlocked and appliances being left switched on
concern over causing harm to others
unpleasant intrusive thoughts or images, especially about aggression or sex
an intense fear of making mistakes or behaving inappropriately, which can lead to indecision about simple things
pre-occupation with the ordering and arrangement of objects
repeating words or numbers in a specific way
You may have more than one obsession and/or compulsion.

Getting professional help is the best way to deal with OCD. The treatments can help you to gain control over your obsessions and to avoid carrying out compulsions. Treatment may include psychological treatments, medicines or a combination of these.

Hope this helped, good luck :)

I have been diagnosed ocd, because I do some things repetitively, like make sure doors are locked.

You may just be dealing with fear and focusing on it makes you more fearful.

It's not insane, who would want to be afraid all the time, you should see a doctor so they can figure out what is happening. At least you would know what you are dealing with.

You are having thoughts of Irrational Fears, which causes unwanted stress. I would seek concealing, because that can diminish all thoughts. OCD is when you have to do things repedidy until you feel in control of asituation. For example, a person with OCD would flicka light 20, and if they can not do that it can cause their whole world to crumble.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms include both obsessions and compulsions. OCD symptoms can be severe and time-consuming. For instance, someone who feels that his or her hands have become contaminated by germs
