Sexual side effects?!

Question: Has anyone here taken antidepressants and the sexual side effects (low libido, genital numbness, delayed ejaculation, etc...) did not go away after you quit the med? Also, how long did it take for everything to return to normal. I PREFER responses from people who HAVE TAKEN antidepressants.

hi i just wrote a question about coming off antidepressants and sex. i found being on them made it hard to have sex and enjoy it properly, however iv just been off my tablets a week and have found it easy to climax which its been a nightmare to achieve before coming off tablets. i really dont know why its only taken a week, as i imagined it might take weeks to months.
id just like to add i didnt come off my tablets for sex, it was because the tablets reversed on me and started causing me depression.

it doesn't matter if someone takes antidepressants
or anticonvulsants or mood stabilizers.
all prescription medications have the same side effects sometimes.

i take a mood stabilizer [lamictal] for my bipolar disorder,
unfortunately i did take lexapro for two months..so i guess
i'm abiding to your wishes about hearing from people who have taken antidepressants. and ya know what, sometimes i'm not able to ejaculate like i usually do, but it's okay. my girlfriend takes an antidepressant and sometimes doesn't have a very high sex drive like normal but oh well..at least she's not depressed...see what i'm saying?

i just don't get it, yeah, we are human, yes we all get horny.
but you know...you should rather care about your mood balancing out and becoming happy again rather than if you
can get yourself up. i don't get why some people rather care about sex drive effects rather than making sure they are recovering from depression.

and if you're getting off of your antidepressants just to have your sex drive uneffected, you're really harming yourself. you can get suicidal from having your depression not properly treated, cause you get so deep in the mental health issue.

you're an idiot if you only care about that.
side effects wear away after a time period.

GIve yourself 2-3 weeks to get your system clean. If you are still depressed, try alternative methods like diet and exersize. Good luck!
