Depression What's Medicine's HELP you the most?!

Question: I have diagnosed Major Clinical Depression. And believe me it is MAJOR. What medicines work for you? I have been rotated around most of them. I mean it's can't get out of bed incapacitating. I am starting therapy (I have a GREAT marraige and GREAT kids) I have nothing in my past (molestation, rape etc) I have weaned myself off the meds (after 3 months thought I would be Baker Acted), tried accupuncture, meditation, chelation therapy, you name it. I am proactive but I am lost as to what to do next. I try to exercise, everything. So my question is WHAT ANTIDEPRESSANT WORKS GREAT FOR YOU? Thanks so much. I appreciate it more than you know.

I am on Prozac, Wellbutrin and Serequel.

I am on Prozac, Wellbutrin and Serequel.

lexapro
and self help books and faith.
keep going dont give up.
iv taken Prozac and it made me feel nothing really i wasn't happy or sad and i didn't like that.
then i was on another one i forget its name.
it did nothing.
but laxapro has done it for me Ive been treating depression for 18 yrs.

After trying several kinds of meds myself, I am on paxil and I love it. It helps with my anxiety.

I think Seroxat, the side effects are rough at the start, I gave up in the first week twice, but after sticking with it and riding out the side effects I think they are the best. Ive bben on prozac, lexapro, lithium, cipramil, lustral, paxil and probably others but I find these ones fantastic. Within a month I was feeling super, after another month I was working full-time and out with friends doing normal things everyday. I never thought I would see that day. 3 years later Im still on them but I dont mind taking them as they work sooooooooo well for me. Everybodies different but I think most people that start Seroxat give up too early to see the good effects and therefore report that it is crap!!!!

I've been on effexor for 2 weeks and I guess it's working people who are around me tell me I seem calmer.

Newly published research suggests that Prozac doesn't help major depression. I have tried Prozac, but it didn't help my depression. I had major depression, GAD, and insomnia. Lexapro works for me. I have only used Prozac and Lexapro. I have heard great things about Serequel and Effexor, but mostly I have heard about how wonderful Lexapro is.

Right now the psych. meds. that keep me going are Cymbalta, Seroquel, Ritalin for energy, and Klonapin.
Over the years I have taken many medications, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Buspar, Serzone, Zyprexa, Imipramine, Remeron, Trazodone, Luvox are the ones I can remember at the moment. Most of them helped me for a few years. They gradually stopped working as well, hence I would switch to something else. You and your doctor can come up with a plan that he/she thinks would be worth a try. I hope you will feel better soon.

Right now I am on Xanex, Abilify, and Efffexor XR. I can see the depression lifting a little, but the side effects are a little rough. I am still going through the trial and error of medications though, so don't give up. Each person is different, and it may take you a little while to find the right combination.
