Anyone ever tried Haloperidol for mental illness?!

I haven't had it but know a couple who have. They say it zaps the mania, puts you down, and leaves you out of it. These folks were ER manic cases shot up to calm down, so their experiences weren't the same as being prescribed as maintenance. It's a first generation antipsychotic so is more inclined to cause side effects like shuffle walk and so forth, which is part of what they did not like.

there is a website that is called Crazymeds.com they are pretty honest about the side effects which is what I like to know before taking anything new.
