I'm a cutter.....I need urgent help!!!!!!?!
Question: Lately, I've been having a really hard time resisting the urge to cut. Once I went as far as to disinfect the razor and clean my arms but then stopped. I tried squeezing ice really hard but it doesn't do anything other than numb my skin. My head feels so heavy sometimes I feel like it's gonna burst and most of the time I feel like I might suddenly lose control of my hands and hurt myself out of an impulse. So I need some suggestions to resist the urge...IMMEDIATELY

Although I don't understand what would make a person cut, I know enough to tell you that it's not good for you, but then again you already knew that.
Maybe you should try some other form of pain. I'll give some suggestions.
Snap yourself with rubber bands
pierce your skin with needles
smack yourself with a paddle, flogger, piece of rope, etc.
wear shoes that are too small (you know that hurts)
These are other forms of pain that will take your mind off of what you are hurting from. They are also things that you can control so that you can control yourself once again but these are much less dangerous.
why are you sitting on here asking us???
why don't you GO TELL YOUR PARENTS?!
(cause obviously more cutters on here are teens)
or call 911 and tell them you are suicidal and need help
if you do not live with your parents.
just tell someone already!!!!
go see a therapist
or wear a rubber band around your wrist and if you get the urge to cut, snap the rubber band?
DONT listen the first guy that posted. i knew someone at my school that cut herself, and she would put a rubber band around her wrist and snap her wrist lightly when she had an urge to cut or whatever. you could try that, i think it helped her.
dont listen to the neg advice on here for starters... i am also a ex-cutter and nothing realy helps but stuff like this to keep your hands busy... i aslo go to this ffree chat room and it helps alot... ne ways i hope this helps...

step back and look at why you are cutting? not getting enough attention at school or from the parents? upset because someone made fun of you? cut (no pun intended) yourself a break and get on with your life. Or switch to butter knives.
go to your doctor and ask him to referr you to a good psychiatrist!
Go to the ER immediately and tell them you need help! This is not something you can just deal with on your own. You need someone to talk to who is properly trained to help you. Not the people answering you r question with lack of compassion. Please go to the ER .
Find a board and a knife and cut the hell out of that!
Put a rubber band on your wriste..When you feel the urge to cut yourself just pull the rubber band. It should help.

rather then resisting the urge you should try and get to the bottom of why you wont to cut your self
confide in someone you trust and try and stay positive
maybe even write down you feeling makes it easier to understand
all so there is no harm in going to see a councillor

Take a deep breath and cry. This is what you need to do. RELEASE. I know that urge to cut and believe me it will get you no where. The scars aren't worth it. Get some self esteem training. You have problems and thats okay. Everyone does. Just remember what ever problems you have you are not alone. Feel free to write me and I will write back. I do feel your pain and all you need is a way to vent and also don't think that cutting gets attention anymore which is why it is done. It is very unattractive. WANT to do for yourself, Succeeding will get you more attention. =D

do the rubber band thing that someone already suggested that's what i did and it helps believe it or not a few red lines from snapping the rubber band is better than risking your life
this is coming from self experience i'm just like you probably a little bit older though since you didn't know how to do the ice burn...
another thing that i usually do is just thrash around my room... turn up some music hella loud and just jump around and jump off of things and slap myself its still not cool to hit yourself but eh i think its better than cutting plus it hurts just as much
make sure your getting enough sleep and are eating cuz any defiency in these and your gonna feel an even stronger desire to cut

is there a hot line you can call or emergency response team. call your closes emergency room, talk to a nurse.
