How do I improve my self esteem?!

Question: I've been struggling with depression, eating disorders, self harm, anxiaty, and lonliness for the past four years now. I have stopped the self harm about a year ago and I haven't given in to the eating disorders for awhile now. However, I still see a monster when I look the mirror. Even though my mom has been sending me to a therapist for a few months now, I still haven't figured out how to love myself. Any suggestions about how to improve my self esteem?

Take steps to raise your self-esteem and feel better about who you are.

first, Take stock of your strengths. Review what you are good at and tasks you excel at.

Think of things you can do or projects you can undertake that use and develop these strengths.

Reflect honestly on your weaknesses - but instead of dwelling on how lazy, mean, disorganized or passive you are, commit to change. Brainstorm specific things you can do to overcome the flaws you believe you have.

Survey your environment. Is a friend, family member or co-worker criticizing you unjustly? Distance yourself from this person or resolve not to let his or her opinion affect you.

Act confidently. People will sense your self-confidence and respond positively to you, strengthening your image and self-image all at once.

always remember that you have control over your situation: When feeling glum about a character flaw, remind yourself that you can take action to change yourself and shape your future.
Try not to base judgments of yourself on others' perceptions, which can be fickle.

What do you love to do? What is it, that when you're doing it, you really feel like the true you?

When you're doing something you're really passionate about, you begin to love yourself and you find others who truly appreciate you. You can also really get into the activity and you stop feeding that depression/anxiety/etc. piece.

Try to focus on finding things to do that you love - whether that's making movies for You Tube or doing pottery, riding horses, learning to play a musical instrument, drawing, etc.

Learning to love Yourself
Is the greatest love of all

It sounds as though you have done everything as textbook as possible, so I shall only offer this advice: Who you are and what you think of yourself is something only YOU control. If you need to do up some makeup, don a nice dress and have a great night out, do it. If it's a hobby you seek, try everything you love or ever wanted to do until something clicks. Experience life, and you may find yourself somewhere out there, someone who is happy. And wouldn't that be awesome?

First of all let me commend you for stopping all harmful things to yourself. That is a start . Next thing is to start thinking positive We are all human and we all have flaws - no one person is perfect - they might think they are but they aren't . You just need to see that you are somebody and indeed you are.Why are you depressed ? What makes you sad ? Look into your inner soul there is a new person in there just trying to get out YOU ARE SOMEBODY !! Take it one day at a time and tell yourself I am doing this for myself today. I am going to work on this part of me today. As you take time to work on your best attributes you will see it will get better. Think positive YOU ARE SOMEBODY and YOU CAN DO THIS. There are millions of people in this world today that don't think that much of theirselves. Know this we were all put in this world for one reason or another. You should never feel alone .I hope this helped you for the good. My prayers are with you. I CARE !!!

look i know its gonna sound weird or kinda a sick but try to lie to yourself when u looking in the mirror just lie to your self then go away right away close the deal don't look at the mirror again just keep walking... i dont know if its gonna help u but it kinda help me a little bit...but when i am lonely i start hurting my self again
