I am 15 and have started to cut myself?!


Question: I tried it one time when i was really mad now when im mad i started two days ago.

Please no rude people i am trying to stop i just feel relaxed when i feel the pain.

My mom noticed cuts on my arm i said my dog jumped up and scratched me. she said if she ever found out i cut myself she would send me to the mental hospital. I have given her hints on putting me back on therapy but our insurance doesnt cover the one i went to.
she is to lazy anyway.
These are pictures of my cuts these are all within the past 48 hrs.

Please help me think of some other ways instead of cutting

i think you should write some poems about how you feel inside. write write write until all your feelings of anger and pain have been put down on paper. this always helps me :)

My husband use to cut him self when we were in 10th grade. I watched a documentary on it and for help of one kid they had him use red food coloring. IT sounds way weird but they said that him just seeing the blood actually released the pain inside him and helped to ultimately stop. Good luck it is tough I know.

Maybe you should go for a walk or a run around the neighborhood to get your mind off things. If that doesnt work try learning the paino or playing a musical instrument. Or you could just try telling someone about it.

You need help....Go to your school counselor and maybe they can find mental health services that are free or very low cost. This should be not taken lightly.

I would suggest you call the Dr. Laura show because she has a ton of contacts. 800-dr laura. You do need help because I am sure this isn't something you want to do.

first off.... There is no reason to place pictures in your question. This may look like you are doing this for attention, proud of the cuts, or you are crying out for help.
Please find other ways in coping with your anger. Call Friend, write your feelings down, do not be alone, go for a run, scream into a pillow, use a punching bag, go to the mall.
Watch a movie. Do anything to stop self injury. The problem with it is that it will not go away on its own, and will get worse over time. You have done it, now, you can ask yourself if this is worth it and if you want to have this problem for years to come. Seriously, this can and will effect you for a very, very long time.
Now is the time to work hard on not hurting yourself. You will glad you did .

the best thing you can do is instead of doing that,go running untill you cant breathe...or something like that. I just got over it myself...Its very hard for ppl to understand unless they have experienced it. so either running,writing poetry,calling a friend up,or something like that will help you kick the habit.

I think that when you are mad, you should just break stuff. That stuff can be replaced but your body can not be restored. This is not a movie. How are you going to feel about yourself the rest of your life after you make yourself hideous looking with scars all over? Then, you are really going to be mad and depressed! You need to seek help or admit to yourself that you are doing this for attention, one or the other!

I used to do this because it relaxed me too. Try finding something else that makes you relax.

Also you could try asking God for help. He really helped me.

Hide what you cut with, put it in a box wrapped in tape in another box with a padlock on it, and put the key in the bottom of the drawer.

Someone suggested journaling, that's a good idea to get the pain out.

Counseling can also be helpful. Maybe a different counselor would work for you, because you didn't appear to like the last one.

You might explore meditation or self-hypnosis which are great ways to relax that don't require you to cut yourself.

Cutting urself is not the asnwer.. you need to think about whats bothering you so much and find a way around it.. cuting only makes u feal pain for a few and scar urself. use ur head, talk to someone, try to overcome whats bothering you.. cuttin urself wont help..

i think instead of cutting your self u should write in a diary or start writing poetry. that's What i do. i go threw the depression 2 but i think the best thing is to find some one to talk to you don't necessarily need therapist as long as you have a way to get your frustrations and problems out.

When I was in high school my girlfriend did that... she was the same age also.

One of the reasons you do that is because there is a rush while doing it, sort of like a drug. You just have to eventually ealize that it is a stupid way of getting a rush... good luck.

People who harm themselves are usually depressed and suffer emotional pain. Harming oneself seem to take away the mental pain.

The root cause is depression. Whilst most people think that depression is a "mental" illness, in reality it is physiological illness, that prevents the body from producing the feel good neurotransmitters such as serotonin. This is why psychiatrists prescribe drugs to increase serotonin artificially. BUT DRUGS DO NOT TREAT THE CAUSES.

For instance most people with depression are found to be hypoglycemic. This is a sugar handling disease, that stops the production of biological energy from the sugars in our food. Without biological energy the body cannot produce the feel good neurotransmitters from nutritional forerunners. This is usually caused by insulin resistance, that can lead to diabetes in later life. The prevention and treatment of this illness is without recourse to any drugs by going on a hypoglycemic diet, plus vitamins and minerals supplements.

Thus we are really dealing with a nutritional disorder and NOT a MENTAL ILLNESS. Tell your parents that you are not mentally ill, but that you have a physical disease that can be treated by a change in diet.

Please discuss with your parents and ask your doctor to be referred to a Nutritional Doctor or a Clinical Nutritionist.

Those will scar and never go away so STOP now. Workout and get some endorphins flowing. If you are really depressed, go to the ER and get some help. Forget about your mom's insurance. She is your mother and helping you is the least she can do. Just get help if you can't control these feelings!

Why don't you just get yourself off instead. That would occupy your mind.

3 Continue with self torture.

sweetie, dont cut yourself it only make you feel worse i should know i used to cut to... try singing a song you like when your alone, walking is good, or if you ever feel like you want to cut again dont... talk to someone who you feel will understand you

Im sorry and i dont mean to be rude, but that looks fake. I've been cutting myself for a year, and none of my cuts ever look like that. And also you said youve been cutting for only 2 days and youve already cut that much? COME ON. are you really trying to get attention? Like showing us pictures, saying how there real bad? Just tell your mom you reallly rEALLY want help, or talk to your school counselor. I dont think you really are a cutter, since those looked fake, but you obviously really want some help, so try to find someone to talk to or call this number : 1-800-394-HOPE

Ok, I don't think you are just doing this for attention, although I could be wrong...

Now I know this sounds overdone and cliche but, talk to an adult you trust! I thought this was something stupid and something that no one does, until I found someone. He helped me a lot and now I'm in FREE therapy.

Or snap a rubberband on your wrist.
