Can you relate to my frustration?!
Question: I am a high school student, and I work at Winn Dixie. Everyday people come in with food stamps. It annoys me to the point where I am SO tempted to call them out. The way these people dress and act drive me insane. They clearly dont need the stamps. It's crazy...today a woman with an Iphone comes in and uses food stamps. My tax dollars go to the government, in which the government just gives my money to, IN ALL HONESTY, people who cheat the system? Who agrees with me? I say "screw"-yahoo answers wont let me say what im intending to say- the system!

The ones who need it can't get it and the ones who get it don't really need it as you said.
On the other hand:
There are ones like me who do get it and only get a little that barely cover their meals a month. I paid my taxes in the past for 10 years before I became disabled don't get me wrong, but I feel cheated. Here I am needing more to make it and they wont give it to me/those who need it. Yet they will give it to those who can go out and buy high dollar homes, apartments, cars, clothes, shoes, ect and I/us others have to live with a roommate/family for free and live off the thrift store rack. IT'S NOT RIGHT. The Government back stabs the disabled and treats the well like kings and queens in my honest opionion. If you ask me.
Wow, I really can understand your frustration though I cannot relate. I don't see why tax money should be going to people who are obviously not in need of food stamps. How dumb is that!
This is why Ron Paul wants to go through every government program and cut the waste. He wants to privatize any government programs that aren't working so quality goes up and price goes down. (Obama voted against evaluating government programs, BTW). Sorry - I was just over in elections!
I can totally relate to what you're saying. Then we have the other end where truly deserving people are not getting the help they need. I know a woman who is disabled and alone who is going without heat this winter!

Wrong category
Alot of those people are taking the food stamps in exchange for drugs. Or if they aren't the dealers they buy them off people who want to turn around and use the cash they gained to get drugs.

I long for the days where I was oblivious to the unfairness and outright theft that is done to the tax payer legally!
I remember when I first discovered this ridiculous practice that a bunch of suits had decided was good for me! I felt the same as you do... ripped off!
Food stamps are a good thing for many people, but sadly they are used like cash on the street and used to pay for drugs, tv's, you name it.
I don't begrudge food stamp recieptients an ipod because it maybe someone elses or ?? I do think that the stamps should be regulated better though.
