Pms changes. I don't know how old you are but it will change. If it is bipolar then try to find out what it is that makes you cry. What goes through your head. When you cry try laughing again. Force it. That is why they have laughing yoga. It helps to promote positivity and it's very healthy. If you are depressed try to find out what is bugging you? What has been going on in your life that bothers you? Find resolution to everything. If there are things that are bothering you that you can't control then you must force these thoughts out of your mind. Not repress but just understand your anxiety and then say well there's nothing I can do with this problem but it's there and say goodbye to it and when you think about it again just tell this thought you're no longer invited. Sounds queer, I know but it helps and it's a form of therapy that really works. Need more tips or if you want to talk to see how you can resolve this, let me know.

maybe you should go talk to a doctor and see what he says.

Usually it's not something as serious as that.

You're only talking about one day of feeling emotional. It sounds more like a minor hormonal fluctuation to me. It will probably go away on it's own. Usually the best thing is to first run through some of our basic needs...

Have you gotten enough sleep lately?
Have you eaten well today?
Are you feeling stressed?

Take care of your needs and see if it doesn't pass on it's own in a few days.

I dont know if bipolar is hereditary, but go get a check up with your doctor asap, he'll know one way or the other and if it is you can deal with it straight away, either with medication or some other method of relaxation, but please go to the doctors, it might be serious, then again it might me that you are stressed out over something, better to be safe than sorry, Goodluck!

You could be having rapid cycles of moods which is not uncommon with bipolar especially around period time which can cause substantial hormonal imbalance. You can talk to doctor and he may give you some supportive benzodiazepine like Rivotril temporarily or ask you to increase the dose of SSRI or other mood stabilizers which you may be taking.
