ohhh no please don't start self harm. it was the biggest mistake of my life so far. it does give relief, but only temporarily, and then depending on what method you have used, you are left with scars. (and trust me, it's not fun trying to hide them.) punching walls is not a good idea as it is more than likely that you will end up breaking the bones in your hand. self harm is addictive, and it is so hard to stop.

if you want to let your anger out, then do it in a safe, non-harming way. get a punchbag and hit that, or punch/bite/kick a pillow, or scream (into a pillow if you have to be quiet), or go out for some exercise - go out for a run and pound your anger into the ground. you'll get just as much, if not more, of a release from exercise as you will from self harm, and it'll make you healthier. or you could join a kickboxing club, so you'll have the opportunity to punch and kick within safe limits. the best thing to do would be to speak to your doc, who could refer you to proper anger management classes, or at least give you tips on how to help yourself.

just please don't chuck yourself down that slippery slope by starting to self harm. i did that four years ago, and i'm still falling.

uh, no it just makes scars. :(. It doesnt solve the anger. if you self harm, then people will ask you where you got the scars and they'll stay away from you more. find some other way to alleviate your anger. Read a book on anger management :)

no it doesn't, punch a pillow or get a stress ball or something

i have heard that it does - but i very much doubt it.

my friend does it, but in her case its to gain attention - which it does from certain people.

when i had anger issues as a teenager, my doctor suggested i took my frustration out on an exercise bike ( the idiot!!). i much prefer the punch bag!!

find something relaxing or distracting...works for me!! like coming on here for example

i was the same one kind of person but what work for me could work for you all i do is leave the place Ware i got the anger and have some water to drink NO ALCHOL just water if possible i go some place i can see but no 1 can see me just in case they talk to me i also stop smoking which was making me worst now i can control my self

Absolutely not and it would be the start of a slippery slope to go down. Anger can be extremely difficult and frustrating, if you need to do something some people say punching a cushion works, personally i think a punchbag would be much better. Or if you have to then break something but you want to try and plan for this so you have something to hand that you won't mind getting broken. Of course what you really need to do is get to the root cause of your anger which is more difficult but ultimatly the only proper way to deal with it. Your doctor should be able to help.
