Long Q... My mother is having a bad bipolar episode and I need to help?!

Question: Hi. I asked a question earlier about my Mom's meds which are prozac, lexapro, tranxene, depakote and zyprexa (some hidden from family)
I just talked to her on the phone, and she is totally out of it.
I really want to help. I live far away and plan to go there to do something.
My problem is that because I have ADHD and mild depression, therefore she will not listen to me (this has been demostrated in the past).
She has been hospitalized several times, and my brother and I feel she should be now. She may be an unintentional danger to herself and my baby nephew.
How can we handle this and hurt her as little as possible?

Definitely hospital!
And while she's there, perhaps address that medicine cocktail, which could make the problem worse rather than better. One or maybe two meds along with some nutritional changes might be much more helpful...if you can get that through to anyone. Omega-3 fish oils in high doses of several grams a day (they make enteric coated ones so you don't get the fish burps), limit refined processed foods, food additives and colors; eat lots of fresh vegs and fruits and whole grains. Might help your ADHD and depression, too. I know it helps mine!

If she won't listen you have no other option..you have to call the cops, or the hospital.
She has to be hospitalized. She might think she's okay but if you can tell that she's not you're most likely right.

god bless!

my sister is bipolar and once they get a fixation that's a rap. The one thing I can tell you is to be calm and honest with her. Do not indulge in her fantasies and patronize her that will only make the situation worse. Yes, you and your brother need to visit with mom to assess the situation and if need be have her place somewhere for mental help. Always remember mental illness is not a shame it is a sickness like all other sicknesses and need to be take care of in a timely and proficient manner. Good luck with your mom.
