Does the whole teenage years- depression ever really pass?!

Question: i just turned 14 about 4 months ago and i finally got past that horrible teenage stage, and i'm so glad...man was i brat! i am still a teen, i just don't have that whole 'everyone in the world is against me' thing anymore. but then i watch adults and sometimes they act just like i used to...completely depressed, freaking out, sassy. that makes me wonder, once you've been a teenager, does it a little part of it always stick to you?

I am just like you. I just got out of that too. A little part does stick with u. And it usually shows when you are on ur period. Take it from me

I think you are mistaking depression for teenage angst.

life can only get better if you want{GIRLPOWER}allways prevails

Fourteen? Just wait, you haven't experienced much of anything
yet.

I thought that would happen to me when I was little. But i really don't know anyone who is like that.
Maybe u mean depression?

U still have most of your teenage years ahead of you. Things could get better or worse. Your final personality will depend on the sum of your experiences during this time. Best of luck!!

It does go away but in my personal experience if you do not listen to your heart and have some sort of way to reach within, a void will always remain and depression may come of it. Practicing Yoga for instance can give you great emotional and lasting comfort.

It is probably important that you clear up just what it is you experience rather than erroneously blame a diagnosable and treatable psychiatric disorder.
What you call "depression" you describe as brattish, freaking out and sassy. The words for depression are more like, withdrawn, tearful, low energy levels, sad, feeling of remorse and guilt slowed body functions and disordered sleep.
The clarity may be important later in life.

Mine stuck with me until I got on medication when I was 28. That depression/freaking out crap never went away for me. It only got worse as the years went on and I had a nervous breakdown in 2006. I know plenty of people that totally got over it though and became fully functioning 'adults' after high school and college. I'll admit I have problems and part of me is emotionally a teenager still. I attribute some of that to my heavy drinking and drug use that started when I was about 14 and went on until last year. It can stunt your emotional growth.
