Does it make you a horrible person.............?!

Question: if you had a fault or an imperfection and was turned off by someone who has it too?

Let's say you have scar, you know that it's ugly and you've been suffering all your life from people picking on it. However, you are turned off when you see it on someone else and it repulses you.

Would that make you a horrible person?

I can understand how one might feel in such a circumstance, but don't think it would make anyone a "horrible person."

The environments we grow up in affect us dramatically. Even the smallest things during our childhood can impact the rest of our lives. I used to have an "ugly" feature for many years, and was often frustrated when other people brought it up. When I noticed the "ugly" feature on others, I would always wonder if they felt the way I did.

Sometimes we can't help how we feel about certain things, but we need to remember that other people have feelings, too. It's perfectly fine to formulate our own opinions. Hold strongly to your opinions, but don't neglect other viewpoints as well.

I hope this somewhat answers your question... sorry if it doesn't. I think the fact that you're even contemplating all this shows that you're a thoughtful individual, and definitely not a horrible perosn.

No it doesn't make you a horrible person, but it seems you have a double standard.

i'm not sure how being "turned off" by anything could make you a horrible person. you have no moral obligation to be turned on. it's just a bonus in life if you are but it doesn't count against you if you aren't.

No you're not a horrible person, But it is kind of strange that you would put on someone else what you have been ridiculed about all your life. I think the reason you asked this question is because you realize exactly what I just said; keep your head up and encourage the other person(s) to do the same.

Yes, it does....

I wouldn't say a horrible person, but if you have something that has been ridiculed by people, I would think that you would have more compassion for another person in your same situation. I know I would. But, nobody is perfect in this life and everyone has something wrong with them I don't care what anyone says. Just think before you look at someone strange or think something bad about a person, because at any time something terrible could happen to you, because you could be in a accident or be in a situation where you might get hurt or even a sickness that might disable or disfigure you, then what would you do??? Just some food for thought. God Bless You and look at other people with compassion and love, we are all here on this earth together and we are all just trying to survive the best we can.

When you have a physical flaw, you see it when you look in a mirror, but when someone else has it, you are looking at them much longer, you may feel the same many people do when they are infrount of you. There are many people who just don't focus on the negative. I know this because I have very serious scarring on the side of my face. I had allot of boyfriends growing up. I could tell right away, if I was meeting someone it bothered, and I would just move on. Maybe you are feeling a little self hate and this other person reminds you of something you would rather not be thinking about as much. Either way this person deserves to be around people who are not turned off by them, you can just sense it. You feel what you feel, you are only a horrible person if you make it obvious this person disgusts you, but that would apply weather you have the imperfection or not.

Yes I think so.... That's just being a hypocrite. Now that's a turn off.
