Do you think i have OCD?!

Question: I took a test that said i do but i'm not sure.
I always think about death, and what would happen if someone close to me were to die. I also have to break everything in half before i eat it. [kinda strange i know] I also have to check things over and over again. Like alarm clocks, emergency brakes, ovens, candles...etc. I also worry about my house catching on fire. Hmm some other things would be that i have to have my blue ring on my right hand and my gold on my left or else it will extremely bother me. Thanks for reading this =]

Yes, I think you have OCD going on just what you have stated after your question.
And then to add a personal statement/comment;
OCD is OK and everyone has at least a small taste of it in some way. It only becomes a real challenge in your life when if you believe because you did or did not do something a certain way- that it caused something bad/not good. It is also a challenge in your life whenever it "rules" your life.
If/when this happens, we need to seek out some good help to step by step go back and un-do this learned process until it is finally back to a normal state to where it no longer rules your life.
As long as it does not control you and your every thought, your every movement, or harm you or others in any way- then it is OK.
May I ask where you took a Test for OCD? I have not heard of a Test for this. ???

yes.... but what is your question about it? Or you just want confirmation on diagnosis ? Yeah, sounds like it.... been there, done that...ain't fun

I have OCD and it is only OCD if you have the compulsive thought with it... i.e. if i dont check that the candles are blown out then my mother will get hit by a car or i will have a fight with my boyfriend... it always has to have a thought with it... I would tell your doctor as you will probably need counselling to help with it...

yes i think you have some form of it. however, it has to be interfering with you life like a few hours a day to be considered something that needs to be treated by a mental health professional.

It may not be full-blown OCD, but obessional thinking can also be seen in just plain depression of sorts or Bipolar disorder.

But if you COUNT, that's a pretty good sign. Checking scary things that have to do with fires is a bit of an obession, but doesn't really mean you have full-blown OCD. You are just worried. What can you do to get rid of this? Sometimes it just means you are responsible, like a MOM.

The ring thing...who cares? Some people are anal and must have their toenails perfectly painted, can't stand clothes on the floor or hair hanging out in their tub. It makes them unhappy and uneasy so they have to fix it.

We tend to call that ANAL, and it's not a big deal. It only becomes a big deal when these obsessions happen all across the board, take tons of time out of your life, etc. OCD really is a question of how much it affects your day to day life and whether or not it's driving you nuts.
