Ugh... I know what you mean by the brain twitches, I think. I haven't taken Lexapro, but I was on Celexa for quite a while before weaning off. I started to get these little hesitations in my thinking when I first dropped the dose, and they progressively got worse. For a while it would be as though my entire brain would lift up and fling itself violently backward and to the left, and I would lose any concept of the previous thought. They began happening several times in the course of 5 minutes, and it was HELL. They have almost completely left, though, and it has been 3 weeks on Wed since I quit taking it completely.

I'd assume the two meds and related, since the withdrawal side effects were so similar... ?

I also would get flashes of a bright, bright blue in the smaller shocks

Did you go off 'cold-turkey' or just stop taking it? For me, if I miss a dose, I begin to have a terrible heachache in less than 24hrs. Lexapro should be weined off.

Good luck. I hope you get to feeling better.

I get that too! I thought it was just me! My doctor says it's not normal though. Talk to your doctor! You shouldn't feel like that. One time I didn't have my Lexapro on a 2 week vacation, and I felt the way you do the whole time!

Well I'm not sure but could lead to serious damage. I would suggest u to go to the doctor n check up on that.

What you are experiencing is withdrawl symptoms. Getting off prescription drugs is just like getting of real drugs. Your body has become dependant on them and now that it doesn't have it, you body is making you feel this way in hopes you will take your meds. It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks for symptoms to subside. But I would recomend talking to your doctor about it. Your body may be telling you that you are not ready to come off of Lexipro. I went through all the same things when I tried getting off of Zoloft. It was almost an out of body experience. But I decided to listen to my body and I got back on it. And within a day, I was feeling much better. So take a look at things and decide if it is really a good idea to stop taking the medication, and also why you started taking it in the first place.
