Questions for anyone who has ever been to a treatment center for an eating disor!
Question: 1) how far away was it?
2) was it for eating disorders only or for other mental illnesses as well?
3) who admitted u into the clinic (u or somebody else)?
4) when or how was it decided that u had to go to a clinic to get better?

I am going to answer for my twin sister. She went twice to 2 different centers.
1. First time was 4 hours away. Second time was in Arizona, we live in Georgia.
2. First place was for several illnesses. Second place was for eating disorders only.
3. First time parents admitted her; she was a minor. Second time she admitted herself; she was an adult.
4. First time parents and counselor decided for her because she was almost dead. She wasn't eating and had irregular heart beat. Second time she couldn't keep food down and she knew she had better get help b/c she was dying. You could see every bone in her body.
I went into a treatment center this summer. It was both inpatient and outpatient (i did outpatient). It was an hour a day. There are so many options for treatment levels. If you are thinking about doing it - GO FOR IT!!! Get better, and they will help. It won't be easy but it will be worth it.
