Don't worry. This is normal. You are just not ready to be done with your childhood, and the toys/objects that represent it. I had a hard time doing this when I was younger too. I am now 31, and I wish I HADN'T thrown away some of my childhood toys. I am now spending money on eBay trying to recollect some of the things from when I was a kid that I wish I still had (my favorite My Little Pony figures, etc.) Maybe you can make a compromise with your mother. Ask her if you could keep these things in boxes in your attic or basement, etc. Then you don't have the clutter, and you don't have to throw them out. Good luck!

You're not ready to grow up. That's okay; I'm almost 30 and have a hard time throwing away things I don't even need. It's hard to let go of things you accomplished or things you enjoyed when you were younger.

Try boxing up all of your dolls and bears, and stack the boxes neatly in your closet. It will eliminate the mess that your mother is complaining about, and it means you don't have to actually throw anything away.
