What are some ways to ease yourself to sleep?!


Question: like you know, counting sheep... i always have a hard time getting to sleep, so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I like to look out my window and imagine what the other people in the other houses are doing or thinking as they lie there looking out their windows. It is comforting to realize we are all so similar and connected. I also like to read until my eyelids are drooping.

i have some healthy tips for you and your sleep, certains habits that you are to change :

You can't shut your mind off. Instead, put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off. ~~~~~ See insomnia treatments, in section 3, at ezy build, below. Ooh...guided meditation works great for me! I play a guided meditation for relaxation cd I put on my iPod, and I'm always asleep before it ends.

Whatever you do don't count sheep because then they turn into lamb chops and then you find yourself wanting a midnight snack (Unless your vegan/vegitarian) which keeps you up even longer. :D

Your right counting sheep is somewhat frustrating and you can take a hot bath read a book ,light candles or use small amounts of dim lighting to ,and slowly close your eyes until you get tired.Or use the alternative!!!A SLEEPING PILL!!!But the other ones work.

Well, I like to go outside and look at the beautiful sky that God so kindly gave us. I myself, love to lay on a blanket and just gaze. Then when you go to bed. Just relax yourself by laying with your arms to your side and close your eyes in the quiet and start from your feet going up and relax every muscle in your body. It is just a suggestion, it really feels good. So does a long hot bath before you do that. It is very relaxing. I hope I have helped you some. This always helps me...

Lay in bed, comfertably still. squeeze your toes together, then your calves, then your thighs, then your abs and buttocks, then your arms, and your hands. Hold this for 5 seconds. then all at once let go. it really relaxes you and eases you into sleep.

i take a bath with lavendar and chamomile soap, put a little chamomile on your pillows and sheets, read, watch something reall boring, play some soothing music...good luck:)

i cant sleep either, i feel tired but i can never switch my brain off.... i find drinking hot choclate can help, not drinking caffeinie after a certain time depending on when your going to sleep
