How can I remind myself that I am worth something when I start to feel down agai!

Question: Roswelld, I am sorry that I cannot answer your question about why God thinks the way s/he does or operates the way s/he does. However; I know that I can help you to feel better about yourself. You may think that this answer is very simplified but I promise you that it works. And it is so easy, so simple, and costs NOTHING to do (but perhaps a little bit of your time). I think that by now everyone knows how to keep a Gratitude Journal and to write down at least 5 things a day that you are grateful for. (There have been days when some of the only things I have been able to think of were things such as ....
-I know how to read
-I know how to speak
-I know how to hear
-I know how to see
-I can lift eating utensils
---They may sound silly, but a lot of people can't do even those simple things.
Now, since I think you already know all about this, I am not going to recommend that you do it. What I am going to recommend is that you do something KIND for someone - ANYONE, especially someone you do NOT know tomorrow, and DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING IN RETURN
DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE WHAT YOU DID

If you can start doing just one thing a day for someone (and you can begin to add things to family and friends over the week) without expectations and without telling anyone else of what you did; your heart will begin to swell just as the Grinch's did in the movie. You will begin to see how very much you are worth to other people. You will see it in their smiles. You will hear it in their voices as they thank you. You will see it in their eyes.
If you are working a full time job or going to school full time, I understand how hard it is to work a volunteer job into a crowded schedule; but just about anyone can find 4 hours a month and fit it in somewhere.
You may get better answers. You may get better advice. If you do, I certainly hope you take it and it works well for you. It is horrible to lose your self-esteem. Even if you take someone else's advice, please also consider what I have just said, you may just be improving the self-esteem of another person. ~Donna

god loves you

god thinks you are a reject child

i also have the same feeling so don't worry u get someone to share .... lol

focus on the positives in your life... are you healthy and safe? what are your interests? do you like certain books, movies or music? do you have at least 1 friend or family member to confide in and hang out with? do you have a pet? focus on things that make you happy and have a more positive outlook.

YOU ARE ALIVE. I'M SURE YOU HAVE FAMILY THAT CARES ABOUT YOU. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU ARE DOWN, THERE IS SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE THAT CARES DEEPLY ABOUT YOU. AND WHEN YOU ARE DOWN, YOU SHOULD FIND A WAY TO TALK TO THAT PERSON. FIND THINGS THAT YOU ENJOY DOING. ITS OK TO FEEL ALONE AND DOWN. TRY JOINING A FORUM ON WEBMD WHERE YOU CAN TALK TO DRS ONLINE AND OTHER PEOPLE THAT FEEL JUST LIKE YOU SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I HAVE FOUND MANY HELPFUL TIPS FROM OTHER PEOPLES POSTS ON THERE.
CHIN UP.

Start Believing in yourself... Its hard to hear but these people believe in the "god loves you" terminology.... I suffer from depression and so does my mother and shes a heavy church lady. The whole god method is just masking her pain. Your believing your fine when in reality your not. Seek help, I am trying hard to do it myself and cant because of how deeply sad I get. Only you can save yourself, seek a professional because everyones going to give you the same answer believe me.

Make a list, right now, before you get 'down again' of good things about yourself and every compliment you can ever remember being given and read it when necessary. Or, call a good friend and talk with them a little while, you don't have to tell them you have the blues if it embarrasses you, just tell them you called to have a little chat. As to why you are in pain if God loves you I will say this - Life is like a cake- if you ate the ingredients separately they would tast terrible, but combined together, they are a wonderful thing. Life would be boring and so would we if we didn't have the ups and downs of life. The downs are what makes the ups that much sweeter.

If perchance by feeling down, you mean that you are having suicidal thoughts, please get help from someone. 1-800-SUICIDE is a hotline number where you can get help confidentially.

You should see a trained professional and talk to them about how you are feeling. Severe thoughts of self worthlessness are one sign of depression. If you are depressed, figuring it out will help you feel better.

Even just talking to someone about how you are a great person with talents and unique wonderful attributes will have many benefits.

One thing that may help: When you receive a compliment, are in a great mood, think of a special memory in your life, or just had the most fun outing/trip with friends, make a note of it.
Do you have an interesting talent? What awards have you won, no matter how silly they may seem? Whether you have an amazing smile, intriging eyes, the best sense of humor/ comebacks, or all three, write it down! Write down those things that your friends / spouse love about you! There are more than you may think!
Or as cheesy as it sounds, get your friends together and all write down your favorite things about each other. Save them and read them when you're feeling low.
Later your compilation of happy thoughts that grows and grows will serve as a great spirit lifter and esteem booster!

God does love you and wants the best for you. Your job is to simply trust Him, believe what He says in His word; He will never leave you nor forsake you, trust that..!
What I do when I'm down is watch a good comedy movie, listen to my favorite music, prepare my best snack, or go shopping. Remove yourself from negative people, negative news, etc. Look for and expect the best in life, and it will come to you. Keep the faith...God bless you!
