Is having night-terrors evidence of something emotionally wrong with me?!

Question: Nope! Night terrors are a sleep disorder like sleep walking. You're more likely to have them if others in your family had sleep disorders and most people usually grow out of them. I researched them after watching my niece have one. They can be quite scary for the people who see them as well as for the person who experiences it. If you haven't done so, talk to your doctor about this. There are some medications that can help but my understanding is that they are difficult to control. One tip that I was given about this is to have someone distract your attention while you are having one, it makes it harder for your brain to concentrate on the actual dream. Have someone start a movie (a cartoon, etc) or try to get you to perform a task (find the dog).
