School, HELP!?!

It's been a couple of months now, but I'm just EXTREMELY tired when it comes to school. I love it SO much, but I'm just so effing tired all the time. I only do one sport, and sleep AT LEAST 8 hours every night. Yes, I am a male teenager.

I don't know, I've lost my motivation and I'm just so tired. I love school and work, however magically I just don't want to do anything but skip homework and fail. I'm a A/B student, but my grades have been slipping and so has my performance. I used to be one of the brightest kids in the school, but now I'm just an unmotivated loser.

My parents argue a lot and I just result to playing MORE video games and trying to sleep, so I can get it all out of my head. I don't know what I should do. It's like I'm fighting myself and just talking. I definitely don't want to goto any psychologist, however I am willing to ask friends. I'm not sure about teachers though, because they might think I want to kill myself (which I don't).

I have your problem too. Just so damn tired all the time. It sucks doesn't it? I love school too. It might have something to do with your parents. Have a chat with them. Tell them their arguments are causing your grades to slip and to start behaving like civilised adults because you've just had enough. Playing video games usually means you're trying to put off work. I do it all the time. However you need to stay focused and think to yourself do i want a good career or end up unemployed in some shack? The choice is yours. Stop skipping homework and succeed!! If it's really getting you down then talking to a trusted adult i.e. a teacher will help. They can give you suggestions to stay focused and help you to pull yourself together and get back on track. Talking to someone about your problems is a good way of getting things off your chest and in the end you'll feel so much better. It's likely your teachers will have noticed your grades slipping as well. They'll appreciate your concerns and will hopefully give you much needed advice. Good luck!!

Dude, who cares? If your tired, your tired. Get the best grades you can... but don't dedicate your life to school.

You are depressed! Go to a doctor or psycoterapist. it will help you

ok this has helped me, i have been just like you a month ago before. what i recommend is to drink some coffe b4 school, and you will feel way much betta the whole day

make a list of all the good things that have happened to you and why school is important for your future

Coffee won't help your motivation. I used to go to sleep at 10pm, fall asleep in class everyday almost, come home take a nap and still go to bed at 10. My home life sucked. I had depression. It will make you tired. It doesn't mean your going to kill yourself. But you do need to talk to someone. Maybe your friends for support or an adult you confide in if you are totally against therapy. Try not to close your mind to therapy.

You're not depressed (despite what some ppl think) and I seriously doubt you have a mental condition!

Try listening to some relaxing music before you go to bed or take a warm bath

You might want to talk to your doctor if nothing works so they can get you on some medicine to help

If you do need to go to a psychologist it's not that bad I promise, perhaps your parents might want to try that before you though lol

Talking to your teachers wouldn't be so bad, they might be able to help, try your school counselor if that's better to you though

And don't down yourself so much, you're a teenager and that takes a tole on all of us =/

Take care of your health. Exercise every day. Go for a walk, lift weights, play ball, something. Spend at least a half hour or so outside, to get some sunlight and fresh air. Your body need it. Take vitamins. A B-complex early in the day can provide energy. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day, and avoid naps, if possible. Eat healthy, including whole foods, fruits and vegetables. Avoid junk food and too much pasta and breads and sugars. Avoid caffeine, because it can interfere with sleep. If you must use it, use it only early in the morning. Don't take sleep aids, because they will cause a hangover the next day.

Think positive. Don't use negative self-talk.

Get involved with an activity that gets you out of the house and away from arguing parents.

You could have sleep apnea. Ask someone who has seen you sleep if you snore. If so, ask your doctor.

Talk to a teacher. They won't think you want to kill yourself unless you TELL THEM you want to kill yourself. Be very specific about what is bothering you. You are having trouble staying motivated, your grades are slipping, you feel sleepy all the time, and it bothers you that your parents argue all the time. This sounds pretty normal for a teenager and would not be mistaken for suicidal. Trust me. I wouldn't recommend a psychologist. This is something more appropriate for a family doctor or school counselor.
