Eating Angel Dust (PCP)?!

Question: Let's say you eat PCP one or two times and it causes anxiety, etc. You then go on antidepressants to increase levels of serotonin and you have a flash back. Would this bring you back to square 1 as if those months of treatment were for nothing? I don't know if I had eaten marijuana laced with PCP or if I had an anxiety disorder all along and by coincidence it peaked around the same time that I ingested the stuff.

PCP does not act on serotonin pathways, so it certainly doesn't cause a chronic serotonin deficiency. This suggests that the antidepressants are treating an underlying anxiety disorder. Taking PCP certainly interferes with anxiety levels while it's in the body, but it won't reverse antidepressant treatment. (There are drugs that can.)

Still, it sounds like you're coming to the (correct) conclusion that everything you put into your brain has acute effects on anxiety treatment. If you want the anxiety controlled, take only what the doctor prescribes.

its probably the anti depressants that are messing you up even more and making you paranoid

stay way from drugs they only create more problems for you; they might seem to give some level of tranquility but look at where you are; so is doing drugs helping you right now? They no purpose in your body if these need to use is to strong seek therapy it can work.

Stop doing drugs and see what happens. Be careful

the latter happens very often. stay away from illegal drugs, yes. get of your meds? no. you were put on them for a reason. and just because you take them doesnt mean that all of a sudden your cured. you will still have anxiety and/or depression, but the meds work to lessen the occurance. you do not have to start at square 1. just keep going. it also helps to be honest with your doctor. he's not going to turn you in. he'll just know exactly how to help you. i know from personal experience
