Yess, it's completley normal! Now I've had depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember and im currently taking alprazolam for my anxiety. I still get panicy at night here and there, thats because at night is when your body's starting to relax & unwind, and so your mind starts to think "oh my god, somethings wrong, am I ok?" when I start to feel panicy, I tend to walk in circles or go on the internet and type in all my symptoms to make sure im ok, which is something i suggest you not to do, because it just makes everything worse. When people have panic attacks, it usually feels like there hearts beating really fast {kinda like there having a heartattack}. You just gotta keep saying to yourself "im ok" and do something that takes your mind off of your panic attack. {for example: I usually watch a funny movie or soak in a bubble bath}. Now i'm not no doctor but if your anything like me, don't listen to all the people that are trying to scare you, they might not have anxiety so how would they know how you feel. Well I don't know if you'll read this or if anyone else reads this, but I hope I helped a little!! =]

it is normal anxiety, that's what i deal with on nearly a daily basis, you might want to bring this up to a therapist, but when my anxiety is out of control I try listening to music to shut my mind off for a little while

Worrying is a bad habit, you need to overcome it like any other bad habit. Try to modify the factors under your control, that is the only thing you can do. From http://mshn.org/worry.html

I can so relate to this. I had my anxiety attacks under control for years and just recently they are getting so bad that I am getting chest pain and afraid of being alone. I am going to see a counsler tomorrow.
Drink a cup of hot chamomille tea before bed. See if that helps. try reading something positive. I was actually very afraid this morning because the depression is out of control. I actually kept one of my kids home from school just to be with me.
You have to distract yourself, even if it is with music so loufd you cant think.
good luck

it could be that your pills have worn off if you are taking them in the morning, or in bed with less things to stimulate you, you could be thinking about things you normally don't think about

Yes... it is normal for your anxiety to spike at night especially when it becomes quiet or you are alone... It gives your mind too much time to race. I've tried celexa before and didn't see any results in fact I think that I started filling worse then before I took celexa, especially at night, so I got off it real quick... I now take kolanapin (not sure of the spelling) which is working a whole lot better but my sleep was still real sporatic so my dr put me on some seroqul to help me get some sleep. Everything seems to be going well with this combination and really I hardly notice the anxiety anymore unless I get around a lot of people but my dr has given me a lot of control over when and how to use the kolanapin so I can often times overcome the anxiety by taking another one.

talk to your doctor.you might just have to up your dosage.i've been on it for 5 years.works awsome for me.hopefully will for you two.it also takes up to 6 weeks before you get the full effect.
