I am going through a re-diagnosis right now to get updated paperwork.

The first time was questionnaires for my wife, my parents and myself. Then we did the MMPI (567 t/f questions) and a computer test for attention where letters flash up and I was to hit the space bar when I saw 'S' followed by 'P' which was an OLD program even back in 1995..

This time around it has been a self evaluation test and the MMPI again and a couple of interview sessions.

It depends on the tester, but mostly they ask you questions about your behavior and ability to focus. I've tested many people for ADHD. It's painless.

I dont know, I couldnt pay attention long enough to remember. And no, im not being a smartass

ADHD doesn't exist. Its just part of your personalityif theres something wrong with it you can change it with youre mind. Its a drug and for such a mild so-called disorder it would be stupid to take anything for it. They can do more harm than good.

They give out questionnaires to 3 people, you, your family, and your school. If all 3 match answers related to inability to focus, rapid speech, history of injury's (hyperactivity only), school performance, and social skills, indicating you have ADHD. It will be diagnosed. Everyone I know with ADHD, slows down their speech, walking, and gets more focused, after drinking 1 cup of coffee (not the girlie coffees). This is because once your blood pressure is increased, blood flows through more areas of your brain, so you will be thinking more thoroughly, and that slows you down. You will still feel alert just like everyone else who drinks coffee, but instead of getting hyped up like people without ADHD you will think clear, slow, and your memory will function better. See for yourself.

Yes, ADHD DOES exist(disregard what fryguy said because he is not an expert) You cant just change it in your mind and it is not just a part of your personality. Doctors dont know why some people have it. My 12 year old son has it and I did not want him to be put on meds initially. He was tested academically, psychologically, and he had his vision and hearing tested. All of this needs to be done before even considering meds. My son's past teachers have watched his behavior and filled out forms so that his doctors could be made aware of how he was doing in class. My son has a great Pediatrician and a great Neurologist who have been monitoring him since we did start him on meds and he has been doing better. It is painless to be evaluated for ADHD; it just needs to be done by an expert.

Varies quite widely. Some persons receive better testing than others. ADHD is diagnosed primarily from a person's life history. There is no objective medical test for ADHD today yet (such as a blood test or brain scan). You can expect to receive a correct diagnosis (sooner or later, whether it is ADHD or something else). A med for ADHD works for only some of those with ADHD, not all. In some cases, the right choice is to be med-free. Good luck.
