How long does it take for SEROQUEL to take effect?!

Question: I know that the label and the doctor says 6 - 8 weeks on average, but I wanted to know what the average was for people who have been on it for a while. I also know that it depends on my body, my weight (I'm 105 pounds), etc. But like I said, I just wanted to know based on experience and the general consensus. Thanks! And I will choose a best answer

Hey There!

I was put on Seroquel about 6 months ago. It worked within an hour for me, as in short term effects (Made me DEADLY sleepy, Dry mouth) but I found within 10-12 days it started to really take effect and work for me. My doctor told me I would start to feel the effects of the drug within 2-3 weeks.
I'm a 6'4, 22 year old, female.

Hope I helped a little!

I have been on 400mg Seroquel for about six months now. My doctoc started me out at 100 mg and worked upwards from there. I take it at bedtime so that I have none of the drowsiness effect me during the day. It started to work fairly fast for me. From the first night it knocked me out but I adjusted within one week and I have felt stable since. The only side effect that is concerning me now is weight gain, but it is winter and I haven't been very active so that could be a factor also. I wouldn't want to stop taking it. I get bad mood swings when I am not on Seroquel so a pound or two is worth it for me.

Hi, I tried seroquel, It made me extremely sleepy at first. I used to get really good nights sleep from it, I never got above 50 mg, which I took for about 3 months. I had some lab work done, and all of my liver enzymes were very elevated. My Pdoc took me off it right away. I am now on Trileptal. I felt the seroquel started working for me though with in 2-4 weeks. I sincerely advise you to get a baseline before, or at the beggining of treatment, and have regualr blood work done. It can be very damaging. I am still suffereing the effects, and I've been off of it for one year.
