I have an agner problem, any advice?!

Question: I tend to release a lot of anger when I am by myself. To the point I break walls, doors, doornobs, tv remotes, ect. When I am with others I feel just fine and when I do get mad in public it is not this uncontrollable anger. Even when bad things happen to me, I joke it off and I am fine.

I have been surfing the web about it and I am not finding the info I want to find, instead I find religious crap or things about talking to myself to calm down or finding out what is angering me. I KNOW what is bothering me when it is and I don't need to talk to myself to figure that out. There is no way of me avoiding what is making me angry either.

Please help.

Working Out really helped me with a similar problem. I'd often get bored when I was by myself and without the hindrance of causing a public scene to reign me in, I'd often take out my frustrations on electronics or my own house. It became a very expensive problem, and while I was in the army, an officer noticed my expressions of rage, and opted to workout with me, to help burn off that excess energy. It really helped, because you can go all out on freeweights or a punching bag, and there's no reason not to. When I would get back home, I'd find that my anger was dulled and I'd often be too tired to express it if it flared up. I've since been working out by myself, and found I can focus that negative energy into bettering my body.

In short, rage can be an effective tool if it's focused in a constructive manner. Just make sure that you learn your limits, and you can learn to control when's the right time to use it.

get some therapy. seriously, i used to have the same problem.

If you can communicate it to people you should try that. If you are angry when you are alone it is probably something that you are remembering, writing down your trouble is good and live in the moment.

You know, I am just now able to gain control over my anger and I am 31. For years I had uncontrollable anger and honey its not good. You can cause alot of things to go wrong with you physically and mentally. Don't do that to yourself, I don't have any resources to refer you to but talk to your doctor or something I'm sure he can help. As long as you know you have an anger problem that's a start but nip it in the bud before it gets worse because it can trust me I know from experience.

Alright: you know what the problem is so now you have to deal with it but not by hitting things. You can't keep things that you are mad about keep building up inside of you because that is what is causing you to hit things. We are human and not perfect at all! Show your emotions if you friends around or not. It's unhealthy to keep being mad at something and it will drive you mad. My only advice is to let it all go; pain, and everything! I hope that this was helpful in some way and I wish you the best of luck. Just let it go.

find something to channel that anger into such as art or listening to some angry music always makes me feel like im letting it out, scream into a pillow or get a stress ball to squeeze the hell out of!! just try to make your anger into something productive or channel it to something you can appreciate
