YES you can overdose on psych meds. I've come very close to killing myself by overdosing on my medication several times. If you're still in group therapy, talk to someone in charge about your concerns. (It is possible, that as a person takes antidepressants, they start to feel better and have more energy, and use that energy to act on suicidal plans.)

Think about this - would you repeatedly joke about being suicidal? Most likely he's not joking, and he's attempting to ask for help. Get him help, even if it means calling 911. It's your responsibility as a human being.

jus email him conforting emails...and emails that can boast up his confidence.

Let me get this right, you think your friend might want to kill herself so you log onto Yahoo, and post a question on a bullitin board instead of seeking help for him at a hodpitial, other friends, realatives, ect ?

People can die by mixing anti dep. Talk to your friend and see if his really serious. Any hint of him being serious, inform your therapist and see what they suggest. If no help there, inform your friend's parents. I know its alot of drama but you'll be glad knwing you just saved a life..and that's BIG.

Listen to Jessica and inform your therapist A.S.A.P.
I don't really know why doctor prescribe anti-depressants, they increase thoughts of suicide. But if he stops taking them, that'll be worse.

Assume your friend is being honest with you[males have a high percentage of following through after talking about suicide with another--particularly a female]. This person is a danger to himself and others. Advise the police dept in the town or the physic hospital of this situation. Now

Call suicide hotline and Richard Roberts @918-495-7777

make sure you watch what you say, be there for him , make him feel good about himself

there is no problem untill unless he change his mind and want to kill yourself.....

Don't tread in territory you're not qualified. You could do more harm than good. Sometimes that sort of talk is a plea for help; other times it's attention. Your concern, improperly presented could encourage him to increase the danger level.

You said he been prescribed drugs; that means he has been diagnosed receiving treatment. The person in charge of your therapy group is the one you should be talking to. Dealing with another persons problems of this magnitude certainly can't be healthy for you either.

Don't get caught up. You're also in the deep end of the pool. It's better to get yourself out and call for a life guard than two of you drown alone.
