Are there free counselors?!

Question: for people that have insurance but still can't really afford the copay. Our insurance really sucks. If there are, how do i go about finding them?

When I first began my profession in the mental health field, I worked in a community mental health clinic, and even though there was a "sliding scale fee" based on the family income, very often we got no money from the patient at all. Check it out. God Bless you.

LOW COST/FREE COUNSELLING: Contact your county/local mental health agency, and find out what help they can offer. Psychological counselling, with a sliding scale, based on income, is available through many religious organisations, such as Catholic counselling, the Methodist church, and the Unitarian Universalists. You don't have to be a member.

Contact your local department of mental health, there are agencies that will provide free or low cost counseling if an individual has no insurance or lack of coverage. they will determine how much you will pay by a sliding fee. depending what the issue is there could also be other agencies who can help you.
