How many counslers??!

Question: why do some counslers just sit there and stare at you they ask you no questions and wait for you to say something totally irrelevant.how is that helping me?I just came back from my counsler and what happens is I sit there and babble and she just nods her head doen't offer any advice on what kind of help I need.I'm starting to think she may need help.Every week its the same thing and I just wind up telling her what she wants to hear and leave. If I'm with her for 10 min thats to long.WTF????

You could try telling her you do not feel as if you are connecting with her if she does not say anything.
Tell her you feel like you are by yourself and you do not feel like she is present. This way she will know what you need.
This might get a discussion going about what you need to feel comfortable in therapy. If she responds to you by being more active, that is great. If she does not take in what you have told her, it is time to leave her. Having the right match is so very important when it comes to therapy. Good Luck.

How are you bound to this counselor? It sounds like you need to go counselor-hunting to find someone you click with. Everyone has a style and if her style doesn't suit you, you won't benefit from the therapy. Unless there is some reason you are stuck with this woman it's time for a change. If you can't change, tell her how you feel and that you'd like if she contributed more.

That does sound very annoying, if there is any possible way I would try to get someone else, or just stop going if she is not helping you. Maybe a friend or family member could be a better support that this counsellor, just a thought. Whatever you do, don't just suffer in silence, counselling is supposed to make you feel better not worse!
