First, you should never put a picture on that you would not show your best friends' grandmother. That is first.
Doing this is dangerous if you are not an expert on annonymity.
A predator can take a fancy in your picture. Then his work begins.
There are umpteen ways to find out who has been where, especially on stuff like myspace and such. He can find out your ip and browsing history. With this he may find your email address or home address.
if you are very savy about internet annonymity then it is not an issue.
If you don't have to don't.

that depends. what the purpose? I have many photo's up on the web in different modeling web sites. As long at they are tasteful and don't include your first and last name or your location I don't think it would pose too much of an issue.
Pending on your age,...young children do NOT belong on the internet...pedophiles cut their little faces, and paste them onto horrible photos of sex abuse, and mail them around the world...check and see if the site is safe, and be careful not to put anything nude, or something that could some day incriminate you darlin

posting a picture in itself is not dangerous per se--it is any personal information you have linked to that photo that can be dangerous
Its not dangerous as such. My daughter has her pictures on Bebo and MSN, but its only accessible by people she allows to see her site, or accepts as 'friends'. If you attach personal info like where you live, etc thats when it could be dangerous. Only 'talk' to people you know, and be sensible :o)
It's not smart to put your picture on the web. There are so many sexual predators out there waiting to prey upon sweet & naive young girls. They aren't who they say they are & will try to get personal info from you. Some will ask for your address, if your parents work, what time they come home, etc. Protect yourself & keep your photo off the internet & stay out of chat rooms. They wreak of danger. Have you ever watched Dateline, when they catch those perverts going to a female's house, thinking the girl they met online is very young & wants to have sex with them?
It can be dangerous if you have any nude pics on there. I think it is okay if you just have fully clothed pics on there though. If you put personal information on a site then this can be dodgy, never add your home no, address etc. x

First off, if it's not age appropriate then it doesn't belong on the web. No nudity of under agers, ever.
Personal information doesn't belong either. Just like previously posted, your ip address can be captured, from that your computer can be traced right back to your desk. From that your phone number, street address, etc can be obtained.
How is it dangerous? A couple of reasons...you can be stalked by someone having all that information about you. Also think about the aspect of a prospective employer keying in your name into Google or search engine. Over 60% of employers look up prospective employees in search engines. Think twice about what you choose to post.
