i have the exact same problem, some people are not photogenic, but look at it on the bright side at least you look good in real life, some pple look good in pictures, but look bad in real life, rather would have it your way:)

Lots of people don't look so good in pictures. No worries.
Same with your voice. If you record yourself talking you'd notice you sound different from what you hear.

Maybe you are not photogenic. Try and ask someone else's opinion. Our opinion is always off from what people really see.
it probably means your not photogenic don't worry about it its not that big of a deal .
well i no a girl who is very pretty in person but takes awful picyures but started to take nonstop pics with people she comfortable with and started getting better
Some people just arnt photogenic. I have a very pretty friend who looks great in real life but if she smiles in photos looks really weird! if she dosnt smile she looks fine. Photos dont really catch people at their best all the time.

You may not be photogenic. Some people simply don't look good in photos or the lighting or camera angle is never good.
Models are taught how to pose and they are also working with professional camera people. I've seen some pics of models before they learned exactly how to pose and some of those pics make them look really weird and ugly.

Pictures never do a person justice...they say. I don't know a lot of people who look better in a picture than in person. I hate all my pictures. I think about everyone I know that has brought up pictures (friends, family) hate their pictures. It is qutie normal.
It has a lot to do with reverse imaging - we are used to seeing our face flipped from what it really looks like by using a mirror. Even though you would think that someone's face is exactly symmetrical, it isn't. To see how this is true, stand with someone you know and look at her through the mirror - you will see that something just looks odd about her.
The thing I notice in pictures mostly is my hair and beard. It looks so weird because that is the part of my face that gets most attention in my mirror sessions. When I see pictures, I have to get over the initial shock of seeing myself "backwards."
