Of course dreams have meaning! They can mean what you want them to. And aside from given meaning, dreams do tend to reflect aspects of our life on a psychological level. If you pay attention to your dreams, you can find patterns between them and your regular life.

There's nothing magical or supernatural about dreams. For about the past 60 years scientists have studied dreams and dream psychology. They are perfectly a normal function of life. But don't get sucked into the whole new age hype about psychic powers and mysticism and if you do, at least try to take it seriously and not listen to what some nut tells you.

If you want to put a meaning to your dreams then start a dream journal. Every morning just as you get up, write down the dream you had the previous night. Prefferably write down every detail you can, but even a few sentances is better than nothing. When you have the time look at key concepts and objects (including people) in your dreams.

Carl Jung calls these symbols archetypes, or alters and he thought that they represent aspects of our self. So if you dream about this boy, its not because you "shared" a dream (not that thats impossible, just if it is science has no clue how). But ask yourself - how are you like this boy? What qualities does he have, that you do too? Or maybe he has qualities you desire.

Another basic tool anyone can use to interpret dreams is called free asociation. Basically, you write your dream down and pin point the symbols - whats going on, the people you see, any other objects that might appear - and you just think random thoughts about the symbol. For example, when you think of the word "father" what comes to mind? When I think of father random things that come to me are - parent, masculine, funny, wise and strict. Of course things you might think of may be different and there is no right or wrong answer, which is why dreams mean what we want them to. But now you have these random thoughts that come to mind about each individual symbol you dream about. Look at how these things are a part of your life - thats what the dream means.

If you record your dreams reguarly, you'll start to remember more of them and you'll also start to recongize patterns between them and you're waking life. You'll pretty much get good enough at recognizing patterns in your dreams, that you'll be able to interpret them yourself.

As far as sleep talking, its considered as a parasomnia. It almost always occurs in the delta phase of the sleep cycle - the phase where you are basically out cold and are in very deep sleep. Its also why you cannot remember a whole lot about it the next day. Most people will experience some kind of parasomnia in their life, be it talking or walking. In rare cases some have driven or tried to have sex while sleeping. Believe it or not there have actually been a few crimminal cases where an individual was charged with spousal rape and even murder! I don't think the defendants got off, but the point is that commiting the crime in their sleep was their defence.

If you talk in your sleep regularly, or especially if you walk or do other activies while sleeping, you may consider seeing either a psychiatrist or a neurologist as there may be an underlying cause for this. Otherwise, unless you are doing something that might get you hurt or are having night terrors (sudden fits of total fright, with little memory of the event in the morning) there is nothing to worry about.

I doubt dreams mean anything. If something is on my mind all day, i usually dream about it at night, it's probably the same for you.

There is somethig called lucid dreaming. If that guy was really dreaming of you at the same time, supposedly, your mental energy merges with his on the astral plain and your dream is shared. At least thats what I've heard.

dreams do have meanings and their is lots of books out there explaining what certain dreams mean. I might b able to help if you if you could elaborate on your dream a little bit moore~ thXX

People will try to tell you there is meaning in dreams. This is not true. Do not let palm readers, psychics, astrology, AA (alcoholics anonymous), dream interpretors, "The Secret" book, Dianetics, The Church of Scientology, oracles, mystics, gurus, cults, or other weird stuff tell you there is any legitimacy to them or their "interpretations." It's horse feathers.

www.dreammoods.com
has a lot of stuff on dream interpretation and meanings of different dreams.

I believe that dreams mean a lot. I have a giant book on dream interpretations, along with a brain full of them. The fact that you've been dreaming of this one guy from school indicates that you have feelings for him. You might've already known this? Why don't you tell us what you're dreaming, and I'll help explain better. =)
