Have you ever met anyone who has had severe Borderline Personality Disorder?!

Question: She loved me at first site. Then, she hated everything about me. She used every vulnerability/insecurity that I ever shared with her to her advantage. Any insight into this disorder will be appreciated. Signed, Still hurting and baffled. P.S She would even set me up into dangerous, confuseing situations until I finally caught on. Please help.

Hey! If she has been diagnosed with BPD, then those are definitely some symptoms of it. Is she being trwated for it? If she's not, you shuld suggest that she goes to a counsellor, a psychologist, or even a doctor.

People with BPD tend to go from one extreme to the other, very black and white thinking. So they go from idealizing a person, thinking someone is absolutely wonderful and the BEST person in the world, to 5 seconds later, devaluating the person, thinking that they are the absolute WORST.

Good Luck! :)

There are other technical terms we use to refer to people with this condition. I believe the most popular is *****.

Get the hell out of that relationship.

Hi. There is not enough informationto suggest that this person has a Borderline Personality disorder. I have experienced first hand this problem and I can say that they are quite emotionally distructive and draining. It sounds more like this is a vindictive person set on hurting you as a result of something that she feels hurt her.

I asked a Dr. what Borderline Personality was one time and he said it was an old term to mean "borderline psychotic." Hmmm. A borderline psychotic person = too close to insane for me. Praise Zeus you got out when you did.

RUN RUN RUN
she will drag you down my friend, people like her can't help what they have, but they can manage this disorder to a degree, with meds, usually though, the person does not realize, or will admit to, even having a disorder, they seem to think its everyone else that is wrong.
For your own peace of mind, run like a rabbit and hide, this relationship was doomed from the start.

l looked after a lady like this, first of all, l was wonderful, then she accused me of stealing, breaking her things, taking her clothes, it went on and on. Albeit, she was in a nursing home where l work, but she drove the staff crazy, she had management wrapped around her finger, she would cry at the drop of a hat, and then smile when she got her own way, boy, did she ever know how to manipulate people. She was the nastiest person l have ever had the displeasure to meet, so my Friend RUN !!!

I have/
Since they were sickly and needed care I stayed with them. The yahoogroups and web helped. It's the hardest thing..if the person can survive on their own it is best to leave.

Flee!

You can learn more about BPD by reading the book, "I Hate You, Don't Leave Me" by Jerold J. Kreisman and Hal Straus.

By the way, they tell you in the book NOT to give the book to the person with BPD to read. Please follow their advice. I didn't and regretted it. They aren't kidding.

Don't date anyone you wouldn't be comfortable having kids with because that might happen, and you don't want to put a child through what you are going through.
