My friend goes into a catatonic state when sad?!
Question: She just sits there absoulutely quiet, she doesn't even move, and stares at one spot. She just breathes quietly and blinks every once in a while. Why is she like this?

Sometimes some people get really sad. It has happened to me. Just be her friend and don't take any talk of self destruction lightly. She may need to see a counselor if it happens very often, or lasts for very long. The world can be a very sad place. Time does heal.
are u sure she isnt depressed?There could be a medical problem going on w/her.I just wonder for how long does she stare,&what brings her out of this?I think its either for attention or needs to see a docter,and i dont mean to sound rude but want to help.
Your friend needs to see a professional. No one on Y/A is skillful enough to diagnose this with so little info. This may turn out to be meaningless, but if it truly abnormal, a doctor needs to to be involved..
