Do you think i have depression or do you know anything that can help me be happi!

Question: About a year ago i used to be one of those people who was always happy no matter what, and who laughed almost all the time! Now i don't really laugh anymore, my sleeping patterns changed about a few months ago but are slowly starting to go back to normal, i'm not motivated for school anymore, i get really sad at certain things that wouldn't make me cry before and i begin to cry also my body often feels sore and sometimes i feel as though i don't feel much anymore. i've begun not caring about friends and family as much as i used to. i am happy sometimes but not for long and its not that im constantly sad im just... blah... if that makes sence. my grandmother and my neighbors that i have babysat for four years noticed and thought i had depression but my mother and boyfriend think its all in my head pretty much. do you think im depressed, should i go to the doctor or do you think im just growing up and dealing with more stress?

You could have depression but you dont have to go to a doctor about it unless you think it would help you to discuss what you're thinking/feeling with them. It's hard when you're in the depressed frame of mind to see the good side of life and to see a way out. You can feel hopeless as if you're going to be like this forever.

You may not believe me, but this really isnt true. I found i had to go to someone for help and medication with my depression- but that's because i recognised it was getting out of control. I basically retrained myself to see things in a more balanced light. Sure everything isnt perfect, but it's not catastrophic either.

To try and make yourself happier, i suggest you try to spend time with people who you know you love, and who love you. They do exist honest. If you're doubting this and feel all alone, you can try writing down the evidence to support the fact you dont care about someone, and evidence against this if you get me.

For example: the statement "my mum doesnt care about me"
Evidence for- she didnt get me X, she didnt believe me when i said X, i was hurt when she X
Evidence against- she was there for me when X, she gave me X, she told me X

Lots of Xs! Anyway, i hope this helps in any way. All the best.

No that def. is how i feel and it sounds like depression. If i was you i would tell this to your doctor or try to talk to a therapist/.

pretty much sounds like depression to me...all in the head? Wow what a concept! Go see a Dr. about some therapy or meds. or ...anyway please get some help.

Depression sounds like a distinct possibility. The good news, is that there are very effective treatments available. Seek them out. It can make a night and day difference.

Hang in there,

You sound just like me.
I ended up having depression. You should see your doctor or a therapist for a proper diagnosis. If your mom doesnt want to take you, you could;
-ask your grandma or neighbor who noticed, they might be willing to take you.
-when your at the doctor for your next check up bring it up with him/her
-talk to your school nurse, guidance counselor, or a teacher who you think could help

but please, dont just let it bother you... do something

these are all classic signs of depression. visit the doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. good luck.

Firstly depression is not hereditary. If another family member has it there is no scientific proof that it will be passes down to you.
We all have stresses placed on us from time to time but sometimes it can get too much and you need to talk to a trained professional. Its not embaressing and forget what others may think. It is good to talk.
