Are you in college? Is this your first time away from home for an extended period of time?
I think it is perfectly "normal" to be homesick, and to worry something might happen to your parents. Our relationships change, and maybe you are at a point where you are realizing a lot about you - your parents - and how things are changing.

1.) Rational assessment of risk.
What's the chance that something will happen to your parents while you're away at school? Perhaps you can call them every now and then to check in on things.
Get homeschooled! I like it a lot for other reasons, but everyone has a good reason.
