Answers: why does everyone have an instinct to want to protect things that are weaker, smaller, cuter etc. than ourselves?

I think it's an inbuilt instinct most animals have for protecting their young/children.

In nature, most of the time, animals will have that instinct there so that they'll fight to the death to protect their children and continue their bloodline.

Not everyone does. Some people don't care and feel the helpless don't need help because it isn't their problem.

I don't know if it's truly an instinct or not but for those who feel protective it depends on both environmental and innate factors. (aka how you were raised, for example (environmental), and human nature (innate).

it's what we learn because it's a model of our society.

Human instinct.
