What are the signs/symptoms of Post Trumatic Stress Syndrome?!

Question: I've been very badly mistreated by a few Florida doctors over the last 17 years, and I wonder if I'm suffering from PTSD. After being misdiagosed, fondled/,molested, given Versed w/o my knowledge (which ruined my life with chronic anxiety and depression,) prescribed RX's that I'm allergic to and could have killed me had I taken them, refered to the wrong doctor's for specific conditions to name a few (I could fill up a few pages here of medical horrors that has happened to me, and my family alone.) Any suggestions or advice?

Many people actually DO suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome because of medical malpractice or other traumatic health-related injuries such as you describe. Not only have you been ill and made worse by the wrong treatment, you also must now deal with the emotional component of distrust, betrayal, etc.

If you were molested - you not only need legal recourse but also need to have someone to talk to about your experience.

Not all doctors are bad - and some are just GREAT and can help you heal mind and body. Getting help from the right therapist or mental health counsellor might be the first step in the right direction.

Good luck - be well.

For information on PTSD, simply type in Post Traumatic Stress at the top of this page. A whole list of sites will come-up.

Sexual abuse has its own set of problems besides those of PTSD. Do plan to meet with a FEMALE counselor / mental health therapist for a continuing series of sessions.

This will help with 1/2 your difficulties. Proper medication would help with the rest.
