there's a 25% chance they will have a disorder. don't worry, even if one does...you'd quickly notice it because you had suffered from it. i'm one of 4, i'm the only one with ADHD and bipolar disorder.

so yeah...there's an example.

94% chance.

its like the most common diagnosis ever out of my group of about 10 friends atleast 8 have been diagnosed lol

were cool

The children can be genetically predisposed, but you cannot accurately say the chances...as you can see, one person said 25% and one said 94%....

ignore michael its bull there is a 94% chance. There is a small chance they will, buyt in todays worlds especially with school age kids who seem to think its funny to bully others all kids these days seem to get depression. Its when it goes un noticed by parents that is when it gets out of hand esp when they deny it and saying things like you will get over it etc speaking from personal experience. Everyone gets depression soemthimes in there life. and its much easier to treated when you first seem the signs.
I found the easiest way with the kids I work with is if they cant talk about there problems I get them to express them in other ways like journal writing for there and my eyes only or even painting and drawing, then getting them to explain what made them draw or paint that. Distraction is not the key it will only delay what is some come later never bottle stuff like that up. encourage them to let it out. ;)

DEPRESSION IS AN EFECT , NOT A A DISEASE. IT IS NOT INHERENT, BUT THE CAUSES ARE. HOWEVDER THERE ARE MORE ENVIRONMENTAL CAUSES THAN POSSIBLE HERITAGE CAUSES. THE ODDS OF YOUR CHILDREN BEING DIAGNOSED WITH DEPRESSION ARE ABOUT 100%!
