Why are smart people so depressive?!

Question: Is it introversion or is it just the thinking process never stops!

Answers: Is it introversion or is it just the thinking process never stops!

I think it's the thinking process never stops. There's nothing wrong with that. It's the emotions involved in deep thought and ponder that depress us.

Also, a lot of highly intelligent people aren't the best socially. Have you seen "A Beautiful Mind" with Russel Crowe?

I want to figure that out too... it's kinda weird.

it is true. i am a smart guy, got a 4.2 in high school.
i am always depressed, i am always thinking of life, future, next year, career, money, home work, if i did too much, or not enough to get a good grade.
it is hard because i try so hard to get the best of my education, that makes me miss out on many things. i don't go out and have fun, all i do is home work and studying, i think that is a reason to be depressed.
i hope that helped.

It's the lack of illusions and being unable to use denial, human societies are cesspools of hypocrisy and stupidity living with that crap is enough to depress any one.

Maybe because they are so smart they know the consequences of having fun

Not every one "Gets them" We all see things through different binoculars. The thinking process does not stop, Being social is more difficult unless you find other like minded ones to socialize with.

They don't relate to other people because they find others petty and boring. That is depressing.
