I want to tell my friend whats really going on, but im not sure if i should....?!

Question: My mental health state at the moment is really bad. my anxiety levels, stress levels are out of control, im 14 and myparents are taking me out of school because its killing me at the moment

THeres so much more too it, but i dont want too type it. anyway, im sick of only discussing this with my parents, i want to talk about it too my friends, well one of them who actually is down to earth,

is this a bad idea? putting that kind of burden on her not to tell anyone, because im not 100 percent sure, its more like 80

what would you do? i dont want any other friends to find out, because they cant understand, they think im just being immature and a baby when i have my episodes, but its a illness, they just dont get that

people are calling me ugly, self absorbed and anything else off the top of my head, but yea its not doing me any favours, and i dont want to leave being dubbed as a psycho, so hopefully you see the problem. She does have a right to know, shes the only one i can trust

Well if you are that sure it is a mental illness, friends and family are sometime the most influential things in aiding in a recovery, many times better than some of the drugs doctors put you on as long as you know you can trust her i am sure she will listen to everything you have to say. She can help by providing an outsiders viewpoint, and most of the time anxiety is eased the most by just getting what is bothering you out in to the open.

It sounds like you really need to talk to her about it, and I'd say go for it!
I think she'd feel really grateful that you shared this with her. It'll make her feel like you do trust her.

I am not sure what the problem is, but no doubt a low self-esteem is involved. Most mood disorders are due to an underrlying nutritional disorder, that needs to be treated FIRST before considering psychotherapy. The under-mentioned articles might help you figuring out a solution.

If you want to, please discuss with a therapist or school counsellor.

I think you'd be better off discussing it with someone who's qualified to handle this sort of thing - a therapist, or counsellor, or even your pastor if you're religious.

The problem with unburdening yourself on your friend is that she, too, is young, and is dealing with the stresses and difficulties of being a teenager. Giving her the entire spiel of your problems puts a lot of pressure on her not to tell anyone else, and it could possibly cause problems in your relationship with her.

I understand you want to confide in your friend. If she is an understanding person, a good listener I think she can handle hearing it. It is hard to say whether she may repeat it because many people do thinking it is out of concern.

Ignore those others that say those bad things, they don't understand. "People fear what the do not understand". Don't try to help them understand, don't try to convince them different, they just won't get it. best defense is ignoring them
