Alright ignore the rude *** remarks your getting. that's not helpful at all its jsut mean. i am dealing with the same thing. you have to be able to love yourself enough to stop. i have to keep convincing myself that my friends rly care bout me and would be so frustrated if i cut myself again. you shouldn't stop just to worry him, you should stop becuse it isnt healthy and its not a good way to deal with something. tell your mom or dad or someone you trust that can get you help. believe me, i am rlly serious cause its not a good thing to be addicted to i know. tell someone. get help plz!! good luck!

im going through the same thing....and i realize you probably dont want to talk to any one about this...just know that is the best option...what you could try doing is wear an alastic band around your wrist and whenever you get the urge to cut pop yourself. it works pretty good...

good luck and hang in there :)

My best friend cuts herself...she likes the feeling of release and control. She's been in therapy for 2 years, it's an ongoing process. Your boyfriend should do some research on the internet, and he'll see it's more common than he thinks, and that instead of giving you **** about it, he should support you. My friend has a system where if she feels like cutting, she'll call one of us immediately and spend the night with a friend, for support. It's important to be close to someone you trust.

Start by putting the knife down.

I used to do that **** also but I eventually grew out of it. To be honest, life doesn't suck as much as you think it does. Think of stuff that makes you happy and the feeling will eventually stop. Also think of the ugly-assed scars you will get... mine is pretty visiable. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for the by who loves every part of you!

Step-by-step:

1. Put the sharp object(s) down.
2. Admit that you need help to yourself.
3. Admit that you need help to your loved ones.
4. Seek psychiatric care. Recruit a loved one to take you, if you wish.
5. If put on meds or therapy, stick with it. Meds or therapy will do no good if you don't take it.

This is what I did pretty much, and I stopped. I haven't cut myself since the day I went to see a psychiatrist, which was at least 4 years ago.

Good luck to you.

ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER.THINK ABOUT IT.IF YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND THEN I'M SURE HE WANTS TO BE THE HIGH LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE , NOT TO CAUSE YOU PAIN.IF HE THINKS YOU ARE CUTTING BECAUSE OF HIM THEN HE MIGHT LEAVE YOU.YOU CAN STOP BY NOT DOING IT.

I am shocked by the number of girls on here who cut them selves. I guess you are far from the only one who does this
it is hard for me to advise you on how to handle this sickness
and do not be fooled it is a sickness. But with out sounding like a smart *** you should go to your doctor, Maybe even an in house facility that is prepared to deal with your situation.
Taking advice on how to treat something of this magnitude from total strangers is not safe. Please don't take this the wrong way but if you hurt your self all ready how are you going to react to some smart *** remark.

Ask your family to arrange for a referral for therapy. You already know you can't do this yourself. There are better ways to deal with your feelings, & a therapist can help you get on the right track..
